Oh man, I saw this at the Academy with an audience of about 4 people. It was painful to watch and extremely embarrassing. I haven't seen a movie this bad in a long long time. One of those movies where you're constantly saying, "this wouldn't happen this way". These chicks would not spend their graduation night with those two guys. The acting is broad and over the top in the worst sense. The direction as bad as anything I've ever seen. The jokes fall as flat as a stale pancake.

I dunno. This was a hard one and I wanted to like it but I found myself cringing at just about every scene and how it played out. Started out with promise with the first scene but then fell like a dud.

It is not that bad. I actually liked it. But I do think that is was dragged on a little at the end of the movie. Quarantine was far worse.

quarantine was awesome - i don't see how REC could possibly have been any better.

In future make sure you suggest movies at least as bad as 'Problem Child' - a movie so bad that the memory of it is still haunting me (and an earlier poster) 14 years after the event.

I'm sure these actors had alot of fun making this movie and they hoped it would all come out okay in the end, but what they couldn't anticipate is how flat the jokes would fall and how desperate they would come off looking trying to pull the slapstick off. I'm sure they felt the editing would take care of the timing but it only served to emphasis the awkwardness and the straining of their efforts.

This movie was pretty bad, but no where near as bad as Van Helsing. The problem is that the characters were over the top cartoon caliber and the stuff stupidly unrealistic. Had they toned down the material to make the characters more real it could have been better.

Well so far this year I have seen 42 2009 movies...and the lowest have been Bride Wars, Dragonball Evolution, and The Pink Panther 2...I gave BW and DBE 3/10 and PP2 2/10...

I haven't seen I Love You, Beth Cooper yet...could it be worse than PP2?

I doubt many people will take issue with you saying something is better than Transformer ROTF. That movie has been getting ripped. My default critic, Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, gave it 0/4 stars! I've never seen him give a movie zero stars before. I'm honestly tempted to see it just because of how bad it apparently is. But unfortunately, I can't really afford $9.50 for a novelty outing.

I'm in complete agreement with you. The premise of this movie just couldn't happen. Cool chicks would not even waste their senior night with some losers especially where they CHOSE to go to the geeks party.

Other than looking at Hayden's butt, there was no reason for this movie to be seen.

This rates as the worst film I have EVER seen.
Wafer thin story, cardboard acting, the weakest non jokes I've ever heard.

Truly no redeeming features here whatSOever.

I saw it last week, and I did not think it was all that bad, I liked it allright. Not great, but by no means the worst movie I've ever seen (have you ever seen Battlefield Earth, come on).

I hated it, but there you go. The plot annoyed me (i.e. they just drove around in a car all night). I'm sure the book will be better, but there are some books that should never be turned into films. :P

to all of you bashing saying this is really bad or the worst movie ever: this is all your personal opinions and you are entitled to it.

i just saw this and this is nowhere near the worst movie ever. it's not the best but it's certainly not bad. it's a fun lighthearted comedy with a very crappy ending but still an ok movie.

now here's a scientific fact for you bashers: Highlander 2 is the worst movie ever...

' Though I am forced to admit that there are probably a handful of other films I would probably rank / rate identically - so Highlander 2 can't even really excel at sucking by claiming to be the UNDISPUTED, champion "Worst Eva!" film in history. :)

' A bit of a repeat of some of what I've said in other posts on this particular board - but that can't really be helped considering I tackled every thread in one sitting, I want to express the relevant thoughts in the relevant threads despite any repetition so no one misses a point / thought because they only check this thread, annnnnnnnd... because I can be annoyingly and painfully anally-retentive at times. :-p

' So. I only just got around to seeing this movie, for the very first time, last night... And; to summarise simply (and BRIEFLY) my impressions thereof:
' It's a fun, lighthearted movie that actually has a beautiful inner core to it and message in it.
' Having had some experiences in my life that enable me to understand, empathise with, and relate to the essence of the story that's revealed around that conversation during which that line "Thank you for loving me" is delivered... That and the conversation / interaction in the scene immediately before that point (just before their FIRST real kiss - scene at the cabin with the two leads chatting at sunrise)... I thought is was wonderful, really.
' That one line of dialogue, with all of it's repercussions and implications, and the related points / issues / message that tie into that sentence as well from the scene immediately previous, sold the whole film to me. I had enjoyed it up to that point as a fun, light entertainment with some generous laughs scattered about. But once that reveal is done... Well... It raised the whole piece in my eyes and I finished the film feeling very happy with my time spent. :-)

' And so. My post is done. I admit to being quite curious about whether or not any of my comments on this movie's board will actually resurrect / re-ignite any of the threads and conversations that have been basically dead for so long...

I saw this on a flight along with Transformers 2 and I preferred this. Granted, the special effects in Transformers 2 were wasted on the tiny screen but the dialogue and the plot were so awful that I lost interest very early on. I only watched I Love You, Beth Cooper because it had the cheerleader from Heroes in and it wasn't as bad as I expected. If nothing else it had something to say about the perils of loving somebody from afar. I would say that Transformers 2 was worse than this film.
