He was made to look like such a dork, there's no conceivable way anyone would fall for his character. I'm not saying necessarily Paul Rust ruined this movie, but, it just doesn't seem like there was anything that would attract her to him.
Furthermore, all I could do throughout the movie was stare at his nose.
What's also ridiculous is that he continued being extremely timidly shy and paranoid even long after Beth had made it obviously clear that she was interested in him. He still kept on being very reserved.
In reality even the most shy awkward nerd would jump at the chance as soon as they got a clear green light. I know this is a movie, but people still have to act like people,
He didn't get the girl, dumdum-she gave him a kiss and then left...duh
