Paulo Costanzo was totally miscast as the boyfriend of Jill Wagner's character, Polly.

Not only was his acting awful, but a girl like Polly wouldn't take a second glance at a gimp like Seth (Paulo). I was left thinking who the hell cast this guy? He looked totally out of place. When he was kissing Polly, I winced. As a couple they looked all wrong.

Honestly, how did he get the part? I am sure any guy other than him would have been better as Polly's guy. Even the gas attendant!

Paulo's acting was appalling. ESPECIALLY when the infected Dennis was wrying in agony and his arm is breaking. Paulo just looks on with literally no emotion.

I rated the movie a 3/10 because of him. With another actor, I might have given it a 6.

Yes he was ugly, annoying and stupid! And I was laughing in the beginning because his uglyass was talking about having sex with Jill Wager in a hotel. Jill wouldnt give this total loser any time of the day, he was such a wuss.

I disagree with this entire comment. I think Paulo Costanzo is very good-looking, and as for his character, I didn't find him to be annoying, and definitely not stupid. Honestly, your comment is stupid and annoying. ;)

BTW, ugly ass is two words.

The above is a bit harsh - people find attractions in different qualities. Theres prob hardly anyone out there who hasn't looked at a 'real life' couple at some point and thought 'how did he get her?' or vice versa. We can all be judgemental

The first thing I thought was this guys hardly been in anything since 'Road Trip'. Ok theres Joey but that lasted 1 season in the UK what seems like years ago, I can't even remember if the 2nd (and final)season ever got aired actually

His character was abit odd in places in the film but thats more script than actor. At first you can't relate to him wanting to help out the guy who literally held his gf at gunpoint, however, if your a good person your gonna help anyone out under survival circumstances

couldnt do anything? he was the one who went against the fire idea (the fire that started burning the store); he was the one who came up with tha coat hanger idea to get the radio; he was the one who realised the monster uses tempature as a feeding guide—he was SMART.

the girl seemed more 'manly' at the start but the guy was 'manly' in his own way—by using his brain. that was what made the lead couple so interesting and NOT stereotypical

I think more than a few people get it. I can't understand people thinking someone might be attracted to someone other than looks. Also, while not a hunk, he wasn't ugly like soled are saying.

Exactly. Also, its established immediately before they stop for the couple that she finds his dorkiness cute. She's obviously not the type of girl who will only date a guy who spends hours at the gym.

People complaining about the actor being miscast seem to misunderstand the character. If they cast a different actor, it wouldn't of made the character more stereotypically "manly". He's a smart guy, probably more bookish and into science than into sports and cars and other "manly" stuff like that.

I liked his character because he's established as being sort of useless for all the things they encounter earlier. But later on, its his intellect that help them in a lot of the situations. This is interesting character development in my opinion.

Well he played his part well no doubt. Don't really care whether the girl liked him or not, no accounting for taste when it comes to women - omg I can feel the heat already lol! Nerdy guys can be annoying but I get that was the point. He saves them al in the end, sort of. Point I was trying poorly to make was that he was annoyingly stereotypical like the cop who doesn't listen or even the bad guy.

All in all a well done horror film.

He didn't say he couldn't drive, he said he couldn't drive a stick. Nowadays, that is more the norm.
I didn't like the character, but makes it more realistic. The Mutt and Jeff relationship.

From a story POV, they needed a nerdy character to convey the biology details (eg: mold, parasite, etc). And his being nerdy facilitated the hostage plot, showing that they could easily be taken in by that one guy and one guy.
