How exactly is this the story of guy who inspired Toy in Toy Story.

Dose the world of Toy Story really look like a civilization that capable of interplanetary travel. Even the premise of this movie makes no sense.

It's just a movie for kids. I wouldn't strain too hard trying to make sense of a timeline.

This story takes place in Buzz Lightyear's universe, not the Toy Story universe, per se. I heard that this probably would have been a movie that Andy might have watched that would have made him want a Buzz Lightyear toy so much, as would every other kid in the country at that time.
