reply

If it makes you feel any better cats have cornered the market on retarded internet clips. That's something.

because cats are evil.

reply

C'mon, I am sure you don't mean it, cats are not evil. They might not be as expressive with their love as dogs, but still they can be good pets.

reply

It's always dogs, because cats don't learn human language, you need to learn theirs. If you know how to communicate cats are eager to please and learn tricks.

That screencap is from Natural World: The Cat Connection (BBC).

The cat held that position for quite a while.

Technically Inu's are dogs but they act like cats.

prefer Shiba Inu's, the one in the movie is the bigger version of this.

They make be dogs but the cat areas is they are very clean animals, have a feline look and probably look at you weird if they think they'll be walking thru mud.

Cats are not loyal!

Be content with the song "smelly cat" sung by Phoebe Buffay from Friends
This is probably the MAX you can get from a cat's story!

"Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan... My Brothers"

Because dogs were the most important animal in the development of Civilization. For protection from animals and warning. Helping in the hunt. Pack animals. Transportation. Companionship. With dogs Man settled the planet from the ice caps to the jungles.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

Cats are independent, sometimes couldn't-be-bothered animals, much unlike dogs who are needy and require a lot of attention from their owners, thus making them more loyal and loving.

Besides, there HAVE been many stories about cats helping/saving humans as well. (A little too lazy to find and post them)

I didn't say otherwise, but the dog's impact on Civilization is infinitely more than cat's. Dogs are pack animals, I'm not sure "needy" is the right word. They have a nature similar to Humans.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

reply

yes, but cats keep mice away and thus diseases :-)!!!

reply

So do snakes.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

reply

hmmmmmmmm, but snakes are not as sweet, elegant and beautiful as cats ;-)!!

Right ????? ;-)

plus I think its not allowed to have a snake as a pet, at least not here in Holland so you need a pretty sweet cat to keep all the mice away :-) !

reply

Snakes are really beautiful! Cats are good mousers. I'm just saying that their impact on Human Civilization is nothing compared to dogs. It's hard to overstate the impact dogs have had on our lives.

What we have here is failure to communicate!

reply

Okay, Okay !! I understand :-)

I think dogs are great too, never had one though but I understand what you are saying.

The movie Hachiko had a real impact on my life, love it

Good night am off to bed now. Its 3.46 in the morning :-)

reply

Exactly!

I was being ornery when I posted that cats are evil, but your post (MycroftHolmes) is exactly right.

Do people have any idea how fantastic and unique the relationship is between dogs and human beings?

The symbiotic relationships that has developed over thousands of years is nothing short of amazing.

reply

"Bright Star" is about the poet John Keats, but a cat has a very positive role in it. It was surprising to see a film where a cat was featured so prominently.
