There are 2700 black people in the academy! Stop whining already!
Also, the president of the academy (for the last 3 years) is Cheryl Boone Isaacs who is also African American. Selma didn't get nominated because it just wasn't good enough. I don't know what else to say? There were better films out there that deserved it more?
Why is this so hard to swallow?
If you watch this film, it has a great motive behind it and definitely hits home to how revolutionary MLK was. That is about it. I can't see any good performances from anybody in this cast. Nothing as good as the performances in Birdman, Foxcatcher, American Sniper, Whiplash, etc.
