An opinion from a teenager.

I do not drink. I do not smoke. I do not screw, unless I am using a screw DRIVER. Now I hear there are people, adults who have been whining about how Dakota Fanning was in this movie.

Here's something. I'm a 16 year old BOY. Technically 17 in several days. I'm what girls would call very funny, talented, not BAD looking, hell! I even have a damned set of abs on me! I'm 5'11 and 135 pounds.

Here's something that will blow you away.
I'm a virgin. I have morals. I'm actually more adult like than adults themselves, because they too can be irrational, yet I control my feelings of impulse. Believe it or not, as few as there are out there, there are teenagers JUST like me.

I'm Atheist! I don't have anyone telling me what I should or shouldn't do! And I hate reading books, so I don't follow what books tell me.

I listen to mostly 70's music, because I'm old fashioned, and I like it. I hate the overdramatic, yet I can sit around and occasionally crack a joke about it here and there.

Like I did today with Eclipse and 3 of my girl FRIENDS. I noticed Dakota Fanning and decided to come to her IMDB and noticed that "THIS GIRL SHOULDN'T BE IN THIS MOVIE BECAUSE IT'S A BAD INFLUENNNNCE" "Jesus Christ wouldn't allow THIS!"

Now I'm sorry, but Uh.. That's a bit shovenistic.

You raise your kids. Leave her alone. Her parents will face their future consequences if the choice was bad.

Now I personally challenge any of you so called "Adults" who plan to challenge MY logic. My completely unbiased logic.

I don't hate adults, I actually respect all of them. Most of them. The ones that can think with their head, which I'm suprised to find are at the same ratio as teenagers.

If she was ready, she was ready. If not, she will face the consequences and she'll learn, what's been done has been done.

Hey! I totally agree with you...I'm actually 23 years old and I don't drink or smoke. I've been drunk once and I didn't like it or the feeling, I've tried smoking pot 3 times and didn't like it or the feeling! But, I am not a virgin, but I'm still with the same boyfriend I've had since I was 16 and he was 15. We have not cheated on each other. And me and him are more mature than my mother who likes to drink all the time and smoke pot. So you definitely have a good outlook on this, very proud. :)

I remember reading about the "Runaways" in people magazine. They had just become famous and were making their mark in music. What people don't understand about Dakota Fanning is that for her, this is how she earns her living. There's a reason it's called "acting". Yes, there was a lot of drug use back then but that's how things were. The person she played, Cherie Currie had problems with addiction. She's been clean for years now, but what you see in the movie is how she was at the time of the events depicted. It's a MOVIE people, and it depicts a time long past. The '70's were a strange decade. A lot of the things that happened in the mid-to-late '70's were a direct result of the end of the Vietnam War. Vietnam was a nightmare for everyone and people were trying to forget. I was in high school and started college during this time and if you weren't there, you might have a hard time understanding the attitudes of the day. Dakota Fanning went into this movie knowing exactly what the subject matter was and did her job. She finished the film and went on to the next acting job. One thing you have to remember is that, by law, she and her other underaged cast mates are required to attend school on set for several hours per day, no exceptions. There are chaperones and I'm sure her parents were present from time to time. Dakota Fanning is a well grounded young lady and is probably more mature than most people give her credit for. The ones griping about the subject matter of the film are the ones with the problem, NOT Dakota Fanning.

you don't make any sense man. maybe you should try some drugs, than you would have a perspective, because you haven't, you can't really have a logical point. same with sex, if you never tried it, you can't really say anything about it dude.

I totally agree with you. I'm 23 years old [but look young and portray young since I am a struggling actress right now] I've never smoked cigarettes. I've only tried pot 3 times. I've never tried any other drugs. I've only been drunk once and only once. And you know what? I didn't like any of it. So I never went back or tried any of it again. It's just not worth it. Also, Dakota and Elle's parents are very protective of them. That's why they don't even have Twitters or Facebooks. So I'm pretty sure if their parents thought the role was bad for Dakota for being 15, they wouldn't of let her do it. I'm pretty sure she was ready to do it. And she did a great job. Same with Kristen as Joan, although she was about 19/20 when this was filmed. I'm actually EXACTLY 2 years older than Kristen, we share the same birthday lol. But they both did an incredible job. Worse things are happening now a days, don't worry about this situation where she's just acting. She could really be doing the stuff. I definitely agree with you.
