One of the biggest musical letdowns ever for me. The singing, dancing and orchestra performances in the original made for showstopper scenes that got you on your feet! In this one the main problem was that song "Hold Your Dream" sucked compared to the original "Fame".

I just watched it for the first time(!)finally, and while the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I do agree with you about the finale. It was awful compared to the original.
shareHonestly, I thought the song finale for the original Fame ("I Sing the Body Electric") was much weaker, and I LOVE the 1980 Fame soundtrack overall. The finale was an exception to that rule.
