JOHN's FATE
So what happens to JOHN?
Did he stay in jail after MARE figures out RYAN killed ERIN???
If so, What was he charged with to keep him there after they discover he didn't KILL ERIN???

Uhhhhh………..a little thing called “attempted murder” maybe? .
shareDoubtful Mare nor Billy would be interested in an attempted murder charge. Likely he would get the same deal Billy got now, and do a year or so in jail. I’m more curious to how long Ryan stays in juvenile.
shareDo you mean KENNY (Erin's father) got a year in jail for his attempt to kill Dylan??? '
I don't recall BILLY being sentenced for anything.
Since Ryan would be 18 in 5 yrs, he probably wouldn't stay in there for longer than that???
It would probably also depend upon if someone considered him to be rehabilitated or not???
Billy was put in jail for helping dispose of the body. Mare gets off the phone at one point and tells someone that he'll be paroled next June.
shareThanks Ant. You're reply is very much appreciated !!!
And Because of what another poster said, it also makes sense that Billy would also serve time due to the way that he also CONSPIRED with John to dispose of Erin's body in a way that others would be blamed for her murder.
Accessory after the fact, obstructing a police investigation, tampering with evidence, giving false testimony, perjury, abuse of a corpse...
shareWOW !!!
WONDERFUL OBSERVATIONS Info !!!
Thanks for that list !!!
Wish we'd had a scene where we could have found out what the charges against him would be and how much time he would serve.
We learn BILLY will be set free in about a year, but HEAR NOTHING more about what happens to his brother or to RYAN and how much time they'll have to remain in CUSTODY???
Add statutory rape to the list.
shareRegardless of John’s reasons, concealing a homicide is still a criminal offense. If charged solely with this, he would be guilty in almost all jurisdictions of a low level felony offense and might spend a few years in prison or on probation. However, he could also be charged as an accomplice after the fact to murder, which would carry an even stiffer sentence.
Since no serious bodily injury occurred during his attempted murder of his brother (interrupted by Mare), the penalties for an attempted murder conviction are similar to those for aggravated assault—a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
It would still be nice to know precisely what JOHN got charged with and how long of a sentence he got.
Because admitting that he's the father of the child he created when Erin was still a MINOR would probably also be a FACTOR that would keep him locked up for a long time (plus it would also require him to be registered as a SEX OFFENDER)???
Billy got a year I believe - Mare mentioned something along those lines. John should probably get the same. Regarding statutory rape, I believe the age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16. I have no idea if she was under that - it didn't seem so. If so he'll get another year?
There is also an obstruction of justice charge they can slap on both of them - that's typically 3-5 years.
Since JOHN was also caught by MARE attempting to MURDER his brother, and then he also LIES to the COPS, I'd expect him to get a lot more time than Billy.
And what about laws against INCEST?
Lori also mentioned how John was guilty of that issue.
