They are still Holy Rollers today. When you brainwash young people with religion it has devastating effects on their critical thinking skills.
Religion, for the good it does, is not worth the damage it has done to society. I hope we can get further away from the cult like stuff and hold on to the 'love one another' stuff more in the future.
I guess it is if all you ever listen to is right wing media. I listen to both because I want to know what's going on in the world and they both lie to you about reality and try to get you angry about something. I've only ever heard Right wing news mention it a couple of times. I don't even know what you think it is as because if you look it up, it says that woke is being aware of racial prejudice which is a good thing.
Christianity isn't a religion. Because in religion you have to earn your way to salvation. In Christianity, salvation is free.
Atheism is yet another religion with billions of victims.
Of course Christianity is a religion. As much as you want to be special and not lumped in with other religions (I get that) it simply IS a religion. It system of faith and worship.
Atheism isn't a religion, it is simply the lack of belief in any gods.
lol Atheists who worship themselves would not be atheists, people who worship something or believe they are God would not be atheists, atheists do not have faith or worship anyone. You are talking about self worship which is a religion. People who worship nature are Wiccans, again, not atheists.
How is Christianity not a religion? Do yourself a favor and Google "What is a religion?" Then tell me how Christianity is not a system of faith and worship, because that would fascinate me.
Is this your first time talking to an atheist? If so, I'm sorry, I know I am coming of condescending, but either someone has lied to you or you've chosen to lie to yourself. I can't deny that it's really annoying when someone doesn't understand the difference between fact and fiction.
Believing that all you need to do to be assured of salvation is "accept Jesus" isn't what "Christianity" teaches, its what PROTESTANT Christianity teaches. Protestantism is a minority within Christianity with about 400-500 million followers, as opposed to over 2 billion Christians overall. The remaining Christians around the globe do NOT accept the idea that all you have to do to gain salvation is "accept Jesus", and unfortunately for you, THEIR viewpoint represents what the MAJORITY of Christians worldwide believe.
Errr, I’m aware what bodies such as the Roman church believes. It does not mean they are correct in their interpretation, nor does it mean that I am misinformed.
The idea of salvation by works is rejected all over the New Testament and because the papacy clings to it still does not make it so.
Had the OP said somethihn along the lines of “Don’t most Christians believe in salvation by works?” your post may have been valid. You make some correct points, unfortunately you’re answering the wrong questions.
