i agree, it was awful. But for me, Jennifer Hudson is the worst thing in this movie, so the awful bag seemed to fit her awful performance. I won't go into THAT though...i'll be here all night :p

another post had cringe worthy moments..the one where JH "louise" is trying on wedding gowns, and her family is sitting there, that scene looks like it was tacked on in about 5 seconds "quick,get a black family in there" and someone else commented that JH seems like she has a learning disability.. she has a Fat Albert lower lip..

No, I thought it was ugly too. I also thought it looked very cheap. If I saw someone carrying a bag like that, I'd think they bought it at a place like WalMart, not from an expensive designer shop. I also thought the denim bag that she was renting was ugly too.

To be honest, I wouldn't purchase an expensive purse to begin with because I'm way too practical. I mean, I like a nice-looking purse. But shelling out hundreds of dollars for a purse, just because its designer is famous, is ridiculous.

I thought the bag was hideous as well. Every time that I watch that scene I always wonder why Carrie didn't just buy Louise a classic LV like a Speedy or Neverful bag? She could have at least stuck to a classic permanent design.

It doesn't matter, it's all about the LABEL. Coach has butt ugly ones for 2500 (and I am sure even more) just like the famous shoe people and their ugly creations that no one can afford if they even liked them. Or like lots of women, put them on credit cards and end up having to file bancruptcy which costs the consumers eventually.

Thanks for posting this. I thought I was just a person without taste who couldn't appreciate an expensive designer bag. I also agree with the pp who said at least she could have gotten her a classic style. It was awful, but I would have thanked her profusely too.

The first time I saw a real Louis Vuitton bag, I thought it was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen and my mother had to tell me it was a designer item. It made more sense to me years later when I found out that he'd used ancient seat covers from old French trains.

It's all these years later and I still think most designer stuff looks silly or ugly. I'll stick with being unfashionable.

I also thought the purse was HORRIBLE! I don't think I would ever spend that much money on a purse. I think it's important to be practical and spend money on clothes, purses, etc in relation to the money you make. If my rent is 500 bucks and the purse I just bought is double that, I don't think that makes a lot of sense. Just makes me feel really fu*kin dumb that I spent 2 months rent on this...BAG! But I see it all the time.

And also those purple shoes Jennifer Hudson's character was looking at were also super UGLY!

Everything "stylish" was rather over the top and gaudy in this movie, so I wasn't surprised by the over the top and gaudy bag. The only person who's style wasn't completely out there the majority of the time was Charlotte's. Most of Miranda's outfits were from outerspace.

Oh, goodbye mama. I'll never do dishes again.

but remember that those where years when lv purse were,generally speaking,hideous..the cherries,the white stamp with coloured letters...gross.

by time the movie was in theaters the purse was already out of style, or available at your local flea market for 30 bucks..

and the "joke"" about everything being Louis, St Louis, Louis Vitton.. enough with the louie stuff already..

it would be funny if JH character had brothers named Huey and Dewey....

Yep! That purse was fugly. Wouldn't be caught dead w that Walmart knock off. Spend alot of $$ because of a designer label? What a joke.
