i was watching the movie with my friend tonite and she said she would rather her bf go through with the wedding then separate a few wks later rather than be embarassed in front of everyone she knows. i say no way - id rather get jilted and let everyone know my bf was a jerk. like charlotte says - the only thing worse than being 36 and single is being 36 and divorced! she says no - it's better to have had a little love than be single...

I think I would rather be jilted to be honest but I think it's best not to ignore the warning signs like Carrie did, I suppose sometimes you just want to believe that things will be ok and the gut feeling will go away.
Love is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction.

I got nothing
I actually gave this a lot of thought and discussed it with my fiance before we got married. Neither one of us is the marrying kind, and I really thought it was a toss-up, which one of us would be the jilter.
Leaving someone "at the altar" is just harsh, and it's also almost impossible to come back from. You can change your mind later that day, or week, or month, and still get an annulment pretty easily - but if you ditch on your wedding day, it's pretty hard to get another chance to fix things.
We agreed that instead of leaving the other standing there like an idiot, the jilter should just not sign the license, so it never becomes official, and then we could work out the details afterward.
I've never been married; I'll just get that out of the way right now. But if I had to choose between jilted & divorce, I'd probably take the divorce. At least your soon-to-be-ex-husband actually showed up at the altar to say 'I do'. Especially if I had to wait as long as Carrie did to finally get married and then to be jilted at the altar. I'd be ticked off too! After waiting as long as I have (especially for a man that's played her like a toy throughout the whole series), I damn sure better get my happily ever after fairytale wedding (even if he just wanted a simple court wedding).
shareI'd rather get the divorce. At least with a divorce, you can rebound and take it in private plus everyone would just shrug their shoulders and tell you join the club. To be jilted tho, that is the ultimate humiliation for either the bride or groom (pending on the party left standing at the altar alone).

It's stupid to feel "humiliated"! hurt? yes. Humiliated? Hell no! You cant stop someone from not wanting to marry you even at the last minute! It's much better than getting with a run-away bride/groom and divorcing in 2 weeks! More people will talk about that! Divorce is expensive as hell too! I wouldnt want to give half of my earnings cause I want to put on a show at the altar for guest! Damn that!
