Interesting Detail about Schumer's Death

I'm pretty sure you can see the assassin in the beginning of the film, immediately after he shoots Schumer in the back of the neck with the poison.

When Schumer gets out of the car he makes a call on his cell phone. While he is on the phone, there is a shot from behind that shows the back of his neck. Right after this shot, a man passes behind him walking toward the right that looks exactly like the assassin, with the same overcoat and same stiff gait.

That is the whole point...It wasnt someone like the assassin..It WAS him...later at the briefing with German cops...they clearly say he had to be injected after he left the car, bcos of the reaction time...and that is why Clive Owen goes back to his apartment...and freezes his face in ice to try and recall that moment if he saw anything out of the ordinary...

I agree with leobourne but I just can't figure out how the assassin delivers the poison as he passes by....any ideas?

Perhaps a small blow gun and dart, like a section of a drinking straw. As I recall, when Louis was replaying the scene in his head the assassin turned and looked briefly at Schumer as he walked close by.

Fair call but what happened to the dart? I would have thought some kind of hypodermic device though.

Good call. I am familiar with the Markov case but as the assassin in the movie did not have an umbrella (and Makarov did not die immediately - it was pretty slow) so I still can't work out his delivery method. The victim appears to get hit in the neck area (from memory so correct me if I am wrong),suggesting a hypodermic or spray. My OCD here is kicking in!!

A compressed air device hidden up someone's sleeve would seem quite plausible in the scenario we are given. The hitman could get a neck shot that way at the range he seems to pass the target. Again, good call!

They should have used Anton Chigurh and his cow-stun gun.
