This movie has no soul

And I say that, even though I stopped it half an hour in (checked back a couple of times)
I did'nt care about the characters or story at all
Ridley Scott thought all we really loved about Gladiator was the impressive fight scenes and flickering action, so he took it to the max with cutting MTV cut fast cut fire action blood dust fire cut. "let's give the audience more of that! better! screw buildup, just cut to the chase!"
Muuuh!
Nothing. Empty.

Kidding, right?

This has to be one of the most soulful movies I can think of. With the songs that they sing during the festivities, and also the more realistic (note I didn't say historically accurate) feeling the film gives to the atmosphere with the scenery, etc.

I re-watch this movie every so often just because of the energy and soul it gives. Also the song at the end is really moving. Meaning this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvrnLlqQca4

I really liked it as well.

I also appreciate the fact that it's a different take on the legendary figure and his associated compadres like Cate Blanchett's Marion.

So what if this film doesn't reference the TV series or the Errol Flynn movies or (the so-called wonderful Nottingham script). I enjoyed the story, characters and setting. It's a pity that we won't be getting a sequel.

Blah blah blah..... I enjoyed it but then again, I tend to view things in the spirit that was intended.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

I liked it too. But it seems like some people just can't sit down and enjoy a good enough movie with complaining.

I would argue that you do get a good number of nice character interaction when they reach Nottingham at about an hour in. (I do think there is genuine camaraderie between Crowe and his "Merry Men" as well as chemistry between he and Blanchett) However if one does not get invested in a film after as long as the OP (though I myself found the set-up at least watchable enough), I can understand giving up on it.

Its worse that that - it has no brain.
