Fentress' consciousness eradicated?

Yeah, you've got a point, except that, without Colter's intervention, Fentress would have been dead anyway in the initial explosion. I've often wondered how Colter would have slotted into Fentress's life without anyone noticing any differences in his behaviour. He wouldn't even know the names of his work colleagues, for example - or of any of the kids he would be expected to teach (along with not having any training as a teacher, either...) Not to mention the fact that he might already be in a long-term relationship, etc etc...

Yeah, and now he gets to do it all over again. He's going to keep replacing people until his body gives out or the entire world is full of Jake Gyllenhaal.

I agree that this was the weirdest thing about the end of the movie. Isn't it addressed somewhere in media by the writer, director, actors, anything?

I guess one possibility is that Colter Stevens and Sean Fentress are somehow both alive inside Sean's head.

But from those last it does seem more or less like it is just Stevens there. And he doesn't seem worried about what happened to Sean.

And sure, that's a good point; I guess he could replace other people in the future also, without knowing that he had already done it before. But they would probably have to be people who had died anyway?

This was a horrendous ending to the movie... Colter Stevens is occupying Sean's body and going out with his girlfriend... this is just creepy... she has no idea who he really is.... is he going to try to tell her?

The writer or director was just too scared to address these points. Really kind of pathetic.

Right, just watched it and was wondering what happened to the poor guy he inhabited. I guess we're not supposed to care he was effectively assassinated.
