shareNo. Its actually fantastic and very engaging! This is from someone who refused to watch it when everyone was raving about it.
I took a chance and watched the first episode. I was immediately hooked.
I finished it just about a month ago. I was never interested in watching it in the first place and only decided to give it a shot because of all the hype. I'd say it's mostly good and even sometimes great. There's enough drama/action to make it interesting for people who are not interested in the subject matter or haven't read the books. If you aren't feeling it in the first few episodes I'd say stick around until the end of the first season. It really starts getting good during the second season and third season is when sh** starts hitting the fan. I also don't get the hate towards the last season. Maybe, like I said, it's because I wasn't a fan of the original subject matter and didn't care if it deviated from the original story.
shareI was the same way. I was like no way am I watching this crap. then I got HBO Max and avoided it for months and then I watched the first couple of episodes and was hooked. I finished the entire series in 3 months.
Season 3 was when it became ‘OK, I’ll rearrange my schedule to watch every morsel of this now’, prior to that it was good but not insanely addictive as it became.
Stick with it and you’ll understand the hype.
I went into it for the action but stayed for the boobs... lol.
Actually, it's a great show, even if the final season is a little bit of a letdown, it's worth watching. Most shows have weak final seasons anyways. That said, I still liked some things about season 8.
If you still feel this way by the time you get about halfway through the 3rd season then maybe the show is just not for you. But at least stick it out for episode 9 of season 2, it's quite spectacular.
