***MAJOR SPOILERS****
Same here, just finished it yesterday and still thinking about this great show. Sure, the finale could have been better but the way it played out during the whole series, I was not surprise that it ended this way. After Ned Stark dies in S1, we all knew at that point this show was totally different and anything could happen.
In fact, can anyone in this series be considered a "hero" or the one we all pull for? Nope, they're all flawed characters with the exception of maybe Jon Snow or perhaps Tyrion Lannister. Seriously, they all had problems.
So in this sense, I don't have too many issues with Bran taking the crown at the end. He has the ability to see things and can determine what the truth is.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but the final season didn't bother me that much, they had to end it some kind of way, otherwise it could go on forever and the show was starting to drag on. Personally, I would have killed the white walkers early in the series or never put them in the show to begin with.
Zombies just don't really work that well in a medieval setting in my opinion. It's too silly and makes it feel like a cartoon rather than a serious drama, thriller, action, war epic.
That being said, I did like the very end when they decided to vote for the new king, that is almost like the birth of democracy unfolding and the end of monarchies. Seems like a fitting end to this show.
But that's not to say the ending was perfect, it has many flaws but ultimately I was satisfied with it and I do hope the Jon Snow sequel gets made, I'll watch House Of The Dragon too. Although, I think a movie would be better. These TV shows can really drag on and on...
