Ygritte Really Angered Me

I started re-watching season 3 and really found Ygritte's character so very annoying and disrespectful towards Jon Snow. I understand that her aggression was what kept her alive in the environment she was in. Very well. But what angered me the most was when she was mentioning other men (In a joking manner) she slept with before him right after she slept with Jon. That really just made me dislike her character a lot. She seemed to just want to control, possess, and dominate him. And of course have sex with him. And call all that 'love.'

I know this is just a fictitious tv show, and I'm probably taking this too seriously lol, but that really angered me as I felt that Jon was a decent character and should of been with a character similar to him. Speaking of...

I thought Jon and Meera Reed would of made a nice couple if they somehow could of met. Meera was sweet, caring (For her younger brother), but still a good warrior too. She could of fought alongside Jon if that worked out and I believe she would have respected and been a good partner for him. Brought more peace in his life.

Yeah you are over thinking it... Meera seemed like a sweet girl but Ygritte was feisty... she could take me to that cave anytime;-)

I couldn't stand her because of her catchphrase alone: "You know nothing, Jon Snow." INFURIATING!

And then they ended up on opposite sides of a war, and we all thought Jon would have to kill the only gal he'd ever had sex with. And we were all afraid for him, because we all knew she'd have an easier time trying to kill him than vice versa.

It wasnt meant to be a particularly healthy or happy relationship, or one with a future. It was meant to introduce Jon to sex and the Free Folk, and make him rethink everything he believed in. Ygritte broke all the rules he knew, and in doing so she made him *think* about all the rules, and whether they were really the way to go. A nice girl would have made him happy, but through not being nice, Ygritte made him grow up.

Yes. Good analysis. Let’s face it: it’s been conclusively shown that Jon Snow was no Brainiac. Not only immature: not really bright. Women dig brains. Women like to communicate. If the best her lover can do is, “Dur-hey,” she’s not going to stay wet for long.”

Oh, Jon was a dolt, but in a way that would be attractive to a lot of women. He's loyal, caring, helpful, determined to do the right thing at any cost, gorgeous, and will do whatever a strong-minded woman tells him to do. A lot of people would consider him prime husband material, and after the end of the show I'm sure he had no trouble finding a good-natured wildling wife who appreciated his good qualities and didnt care about his IQ.

Hell, I'd take him, and he's not my type at all (my type is more like Tywin Lannister).

Well no, Dany wouldn't disagree at all. Jon spent months or years bending the knee and doing whatever she told him to do, personally and politically.

And the one time he ever disagreed with her, she was, uh, unable to comment on it.

Sorry, that's not true at all.

Jon insisted that they go north to fight the Night King; he persuaded her to do it. He bent the knee only after she risked her life and lost one of her dragons in the course of saving him and had already committed to fight for the North.

Jon refused to continue their romantic relationship after learning the truth about his lineage, despite her desire to continue.

Jon refused to keep the truth about his lineage secret despite her begging him to do so and despite the obvious consequences.

And, yes, when she went full psycho, he executed her. It was hardly the only time he disagreed with her.

The only good thing about her was she spoke a catchphrase that became very popular:

As well as an ugly slut. I felt nothing for her when Jon Snow skewered her.
