Why did Sam say that Tyrion wasn’t in the book “A Song of Ice and Fire”?

Wasn’t the book Sam places on the table, during one of the last scenes, supposed to represent the actual novels the show was based upon?..

It was an inside joke, because Tyrion never got credit for what he did in the battle of blackwater bay.

It was mentioned before (don’t remember the season/episode) that „The Hand“ never gets mentioned in historical records.
And he was The Hand of 3 different rulers.
