Bran didn't do any useful warging to hark back to Ned, or defeat the NK?

The ironborn didn't get to be any use?

Arya didn't use her masks to sneak up on the NK or Cersei?

Dany didn't hover on the dragon at the Keep to yell at Cersei? Or burn her?

Arya didn't defy Clegane and return to help him, only for him to save her from the Mountain in return?

Tyrion and Varys didn't do much political scheming as in all the previous series'?

John Snow the rightful heir to the throne is banished to the exact same place he was banished to at the start of the series.

And how exactly would the Unsullied know if he is banished for life or not? Why not just take him there until they leave and then bring him back?

The rest of his family and friends seem perfectly ok with all of this as they get on with ruling their areas.

Tyrion didn't bang a single whore. He didn't even talk to one.

Brianne could have been pregnant with King slayer's baby, but no, that would just be one too many cliches right?

These super bad guys all seemed to be killed rather easily at the end and by little girls as well.

What did you find upsetting with season 2? I'm just curious. Most seem to laud the first three to four seasons.

I’m curious too. I know that some people (I do not know how they do it) hate watch The Walking Dead, but GoT Season 2?

Well... I'm not trying to persuade anybody or anything. That's just my personal take on the books/series.

The first season was immensely captivating (despite all the sleaziness that was treated slightly differently in the books). But then since season 2... it seemed like the overwhelming success of the first season somehow made the creators of the show not trying that hard.

Also, that could be partly due to the departure of Sean Bean from the show. His storyline was pivotal but then Dany's, Jon's, Lannister's storylines became kinda equal thus making the show go the traditional route of many characters and no main protagonist.

The kindest thing I can say about Season 8 is that maybe some day I'll learn to appreciate its good points, the way I have with the "Star Wars" prequels.

Yes, the kindest thing I can say about it is to compare it to "The Phantom Menace".

In addition to the OP:

Jon's heritage became a non-event.

We learnt barely anything more about the NK or the White Walkers since the first few seasons, except how and why they were created.

There's still no particular reason why Beric was deemed worthy enough to keep coming back from the dead.

They did kind of explain Beric’s
re-spawns, with him being the one to save Arya, who then kills the Night King. Not saying it was a satisfying reason, but it at least there was some type of reason.

Jon’s heritage did have some bearing in the ending. He was the prince who was promised— but the darkness was not the knight king, but Daenarys fascist regime.

Yeah all the OP’s criticisms are valid. Those would have been satisfying scenes. Also, Jon being publically outed as Aegon Targaryan, and then having to go in exile up north because Westeroans would distrust all Targaryans after the King’s Landing blitz, and not just to appease Greyworm and his mindless minions.

yea i made a topic about my idea for the ending that makes the targaryen heritage, and everyone elses have symbolic meaning and importance to the story

That would have been a clever twist on the whole "rightful king" Fantasy trope!

But then, pretty much any alternative would have been cleverer, or more satisfying.
