Do you think people will still be watching "Game of Thrones" fifty years from now?
Or do you think it will be forgotten like TV audiences today have forgotten TV shows from the fifties and sixties?

shareEverything will be immersive in 50 years.
shareIt's own of the biggest tv shows of this era, of course they will, we still watch classic movies and shows from 50 years ago!
shareTV shows from the fifties and sixties were forgotten about because they sucked mostly. A few gems like I love Lucy stood the test of time but they didnt ha e the production value as movies did back then like gone with the wind or the wizard of oz.
Will game of thrones stand the test of time? I really dont think it will. I think this last season has been so botched that it will tarnish the test of the legacy indefinitely.
I can see other shows doing it, like breaking bad, which to this day is revered as one of the most perfectly executed television shows of all time, but not this. I used to think this would be the show to rival big budget cinema, but without the writing, it's all just spectacle. You know what else was just spectacle? Avatar. No one cares about Avatar.
You know if someone gave you some VR gear that let you rewatch the show as the 3-eyed raven, you'd be all over that
shareDespite this season it will probably still have a cult following..
shareThe year 2069... yikes. By then we may have already seen 2 Song of Ice & Fire reboots.
shareSomeone is still watching I Love Lucy, Honeymooners, Lost in Space, Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Andy Griffith, Leave It to Beaver, etc. on MeTV, Cozy and TVLand. I used to watch Little Rascals, Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy and they're still around too.
The books will always be a classic. The TV series accompanies the books so they'll be watched. At some point there will be a crappy remake though.
It'll be heavily edited because people will be too prudish for all the nudity, and too sensitive to allow acts of violence against women, children, minorities, eunuchs, or animals to be depicted. So each episdoe will be about 20 minutes of people sitting around talking, and then a plot summary at the end in text.
shareThe ice caps will have melted by then. So yeah, Winter is coming.
