Am I the only one that didn't see the twist coming at all? (spoilers)
Apparently, the fact that Winter was a bad guy was very predictable. I was shocked.

shareMaybe I don't watch enough movies with Liev in it, but I have never seen him come on the screen and just immediately assumed that he's the bad guy. Until he shot everyone that I was like, "wtf?!".
I don't dig too deep with action movies, which is kinda bad since I miss seemingly "crucial" info that leaves me in the dark. Suffice to say, I was really taken for a ride and enjoyed it for what it was-- a summer action flick.
It shocked me too.
Clark's Destiny = Superman, Lex Luthor & Lois Lane.
Liev Schrieber always seems to be typecast as the baddy these days, sometimes you can just spot the baddie a mile awaySource:Salt Moviehttp://moviereviews.noskram.com/2011/05/movie-reviews-salt
sharePersonally I'd like to see him as the 'troubled hero' instead of the 'secretly thinking evil thoughts evil guy'.
I knew the second I saw him that he was going to be undercover.
It faded towards the middle as I realised what rank he held, but towards the end it became so much more clearer as to the plan.
I kinda figured out early on that something was going on when she "shot" the Russian president. I didn't think they'd go there with Salt so I figured she did something to make him seem dead and not really dead (the spider venom did get me though - I thought it was a deadly spider). And from there I figured Liev had something to do with it because he was a pretty name actor in the movie to just be there.
But it was pretty sad to see a pretty well named actor, Andre Braugher, take such a crap role. WTF?

I figured *someone* else had to be bad since they rushed to the Russian assassination so much sooner than I expected, which made me think it was probably faked, especially when they didn't explain the spider venom.
But my guess was the husband being the bad guy the whole time (probably because of his role in Inglourious Basterds). So that kept me from suspecting anyone else up until they killed him off, at which point I was already pretty "along for the ride" and I didn't think much about anyone else. I can't say I was *completely* floored when the twist came, but it did catch me by surprise :) Bit of a "Xander Berkeley from Air Force One" moment, haha.
I suspected Liev, and knew it when he was escorting the president into the bunker. At one point I thought he might be her brother and like herself was turned into a sleeper cell, but I couldn't remember if she had a brother. What I want to know is what were their original plan for killing the Russian president, they had to have one since they basically outed salt. I guess it's pretty much moot at this point.
shareI usually fail to pick up "twists" in movie, since i don't think about it. But this is one of first movies, i picked it up near the third of the way through.
I lost abit of interest in the film, when it was revealed.
I didn't see it coming either, which is why I love this film! I was juts figuring out if Salt was good or Bad and it was still 50/50 at the white house for me!
I believe whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you...Stranger!
Liev was sorta a good guy in Sum of All Fears. He was a trained US assassin working with the CIA, so I guess you can say he was a good guy. lol
shareI kinda knew something was up with him when he saw Salt breaking into the confined area that had the president and his men. And someone asked who is she? I was just waiting for him to say one of ours and there was where he turned. That's where I kinda knew he was in on it.
"Everybody's Gotta Have A Dream" - DJay From Hustle & Flow
I was kinda annoyed, because I pretty much called all the major plot points and twists while me and my dad were watching, except for this twist. I seriously thought THE PRESIDENT was the other man; I wanted to suspect Winter, but I just thought it was too easy.

This isn't for the OP, I assume you were really shocked (unless you are being sarcastic) I love all these "I figured it out 15 minutes into it" type posts. I'm guessing that for a lot of these people by 15 minutes into the movie they have already changed their mind 6 times about who did it so when it happens to be one of them they take credit for figuring it out right away. Then there are those that say stuff like "maybe its him" or "it could be him" and then when it turns out to be him they say "see I told you it was him" For others I'm sure its a load of crap and they were just as surprised as every one else and they just don't want to admit it. My favorites are those that figured it out based on some obscure point and it is shown afterward that they totally misinterpreted the point or it really wasn't a point at all. They may have guessed the right guy but for the wrong reason.
The thing is, it seems like the honest people are the ones who say they didn't expect it because lets face it, if you admit you were surprised there are some jerks who will call you stupid for not figuring it out. Usually these people will them proceed to tell you the exact second that they had it all figured out. For many of them that time is about 2 seconds after the bad guy is introduced. All in all it really doesn't matter how soon you figured it out because no one on a site like this is going to believe you anyway.
So go on and keep patting yourself on the back because you are so smart that you can figure out movies quicker than anyone else. Keep telling us how your superior intellect allows you to know exactly what is going to happen long before it does. Keep on telling us how you figured out who the bad guy was long before they gave ANY evidence in the movie that it even might be that guy. Keep on telling us that you had it pegged long before the big reveal and we will keep thinking you are full of crap and you know what, most of the time we will probably be right.
