I was wondering why they chose Melissa as a leading lady. I was expecting a slimmer female main character for Mario Lopez. It's only now when I checked her bio that I learned she's pregnant. She looks gorgeous but the movie could have used a trimmer lady.
The story's so cute. Just hearing the title, it makes you feel a little softy... (sigh, sigh, sigh)
Why does a woman have to be "trimmer" to be a leading lady? Who cares? She wasn't gigantic and even if she was- so what? I want a little variety in my films and while this certainly isn't high on my list whatsoever...I thought it had a more natural looking cast.
Frankly, I'm sick of seeing the same plain women over and over.

I thought her weight was just fine - her charater was supposed to be "not perfect". Also, the storyline included the fact that the pink dress did not fit, so she probably looked a little heavier wearing tight clothes.
However, I must admit that the promotional poster makes her look more like her "sister" than Trudie. That is totally touched up.

O.P. you are a shining example of what's wrong with our society and part of the reason many girls are starving themselves or puking their guts out after they eat so they don't gain weight. Everyone thinks they have to be stick thin, and if they're not, then their not worthy to be friends or acquaintances with certain types of people. Looks aren't everything, and they fade. Sometimes personalities are what people are attracted to. Sure looks are what you first see that draws you to someone, but if the connection in personality is not there it won't last. Melissa is beautiful, and there is nothing wrong with her weight in this movie. I could absolutely see her with someone like Mario. I thought their chemistry was great. You are just a superficial twit.
