You can examine a human vagina closely to see if the hymen is in tact. It's a small clear piece of skin.
Otherwise, they probably asked her or she mentioned it.
There is another possibility that they used some sort of object to break the hymen to confirm if she was a virgin or not.

Correct. I recall reading about this back in the day. The Royal Gynecologist thoroughly examined Diana to validate her virginity. He was said to have performed a bi-manual exam on her, placing his left hand on her abdomen and inserting the index and middle finger of his right hand into her vagina to check, while her feet were in stirrups.

What is amazing to me is Liam Neeson's impeccable timing... maybe 30 seconds too late and she would definitely NOT be a virgin. Lmao.
Liam Neeson's timing is necessary for the (male) viewer to be emotionally invested in Neeson's/Bryan's mission.
Had he arrived later, his daughter would've been "damaged goods" -
that's also why the movie had to establish in the auction scene that she was still a virgin.
Otherwise many viewers wouldnt be able to empathize with the father anymore in wanting to save the daughter.

The father's mission is actually not to save his daughter, but to save his daughter's virginity.
Which is subconsciously understood by the audience, hence the multiude of posts by guys on the legitimacy of her virginity.
