Why would the pyscho teacher like the average chick and not the hot chick? It makes no sense.
Based on that fact alone, this movie blows big time.

While politically correct, its just more practical to call the sole black girl in a cast with half a dozen white girls "the black girl", same way it would be nothing more than practical to call the sole white girl in a black comedy full of black girls, "the white chick". Its a much more distinguishing characteristic than a character name that many may have forgotten.
As for the topic -- yes, she was hot. And more than that, she had charisma. Would not have fit the lead part for a number of reasons though, among them too bubbly and inconsistent with the character from the original movie. She really should have a future though.
P.S. The lead girl was pretty too. It does not have to be either/or. (in fact like most movie high schools, all the girls were pretty hot).

I thought both women were pretty, but I tend to be attracted to brunettes or to more exotic types, so I kinda leaned toward Dana's character. However, to answer the OP question, that psycho teacher may not have had that girl (Dana) in any of his classes so wouldn't have had the chance to get all freaky about her.

The rest of the cast was either plain(Brittany) or ugly(Donna).
