Is Being Deported To Australia Really THAT Bad?

I actually found this movie to be pretty good. However I for one, a person who's dream it is to visit Australia one day, find it hard to believe being deported back to Australia is really such a bad thing...lol. Anyone else agree?

She was trying to become an actress in the US, so being sent back to Australia wasn't in her thinking.
Also, maybe being officially deported lessens hner chance of ever becoming a legal immigrant to the U.S.

Of course it's really that bad, it's full of Australians. Australia, the largest collection of poisonous things and full of people squinting wearing khaki. Besides white South Africans and Brummies, the most painful accent in the world.

the most painful accent in the world

What a load of crap. Second most painful accent, thanks. New Zealanders have a worse accent than ours.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

she wanted to make it to hollywood, as an actress.

been to australia, and i think it is more a lil bit like canada..a lot of culture and really clean place.

No. It's just that, as an actress, if she goes back to Australia, she may have to act in something like "Neighbours" or "Home And Away". No wonder she didn't want to go back!

Home and Away in Australia, Eastenders in the UK, 'The Bold and the Beautiful' in the US same s##t same stink.

I did feel bad for her, although she did as they say, "make her own bed", therefore she was then forced to lie in it. Like they say, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. She kept asking him, is this for real? Like she knew that there was no way she was going to get to the end of the road, with her lack of real screen credits without someone in the immigration office finding out that her card had been a scam. She rolled the dice and she lost. I feel bad because she was a young, beautiful girl who appeared to have talent and I do feel that since the immigration agent broke the law and I feel used his position to solicit sex from her, maybe the immigration office could have cut her a break of some kind? I mean, when he found her in the country illegally, driving with no insurance seeking employment, he used his position to basically make her make one of two choices: Either he was implying she could sleep with him, or he would report her and have her deported immediately and perhaps have her thrown in jail for the offenses she was guilty of (driving related, etc.) I'm sure she was afraid of what he could do to her. He seemed rich and powerful. These kinds of people can not only help you, they can also do all kinds of things to hurt you as well.

It would have been nice if they could have done something for her to make notice that she was also a victim in this scenario. I didn't expect them to let her stay. However, perhaps they could let her apply for return in 5 years if she goes through the proper legal channels instead of 10? I don't know, I just thought he really abused his power and I was happy to see them haul his chubby a$$ away.
