So H kills the dudes wife....

I just watched this piece of fictitional bullcrap and almost had to turn it off after the seen where S. Jacksons character kills the women by slitting her throat. In the next scene I was waiting for the people to come in and arrest him for murder but instead they come and beg him for more help. This is just stupid, as if the women FBI lead would come in and talk with H. after he had just cut that woman's throat right infront of her. I guess murdering women is just all in a days work for government supported torturer. Rubbish

reply

We must take for fact that 'H' really has second thoughts and remorse for anything he does. but his methods did get the locations of the 3 bombs. Let the 10 thousand families to deside if their lives were worth the death of 4 other innocent people.

reply

So if H had to kill your wife to get to the bombs, you would let him?

1. I think killing the wife was an absolutely necessary part of the process. Steven HAD to believe that "H" was capable of anything(when he brought the kids into the mix). And I don't think he intended to kill her until the chic started to shut it all down.

2. I'd say torture the hell out of all of them until he talks!!!!!! Most likely had they let "H" do what he needed to do, he wouldn't have had to torture the children long...maybe not at all. He would have given them what they needed.

Like some others have said, just because you think it's morally wrong doesn't mean it doesn't have to be done. If you can't handle that kind of weight then move over so somebody with balls can handle the situation. Decisions like these have to be made and they way I see it, if something like this was going on forreal, I would hope they tortured the damn kids!!!! I couldn't do it myself personally...I just don't have it in me, but sure as hell wouldn't look down on the person that could!

"U don't have to like me...but you do have to PAY me!!!"

reply

So if it's absolutely necessary, why wouldn't you be able to do it?

reply

For the same reason I wouldn't be able to kill myself even when faced with a painful and brutal death..it's just not in me. It would be the best thing, but some things I just can't do.

"U don't have to like me...but you do have to PAY me!!!"

reply

But getting back to the killing of the kids, the country as you know it is about to be destroyed and the only chance you have of saving it is if you kill one of the kids. Would you do it and if no, why? What exactly is this 'it' that you don't have in you?

reply

If I had to kill a kid to save the country from being destroyed, having millions of people die and nobody could do it but me..I would just have to suck it up and kill the damn kid and inturn also be sacrificing myself because I would probably go crazy afterwards...realistically one kid dying to save millions of people makes sense. And when I say "I don't have it in me", what I mean is that under normal circumstances I can't see myself killing anybody. Hell I cried when I hit a dog on the highway!! The "it" is whatever makes a person mentally able to kill a kid. People sacrifice themselves all the time for the greater good and are looked upon as heroes...but in the end they're still dead. The kid will have been sacrificed for the greater good and will be considered a hero and life will go on!

"U don't have to like me...but you do have to PAY me!!!"

reply

And if H had to kill your kid, would you let them?

reply

In a second. Ask any military person who joined to protect his country, and not just for a college tuition, would they sacrifice their life for another. They'll tell you yes, and that it's done everyday. And not just by military personnel, but also by police, firemen, etc. This movie is talking in the thousands, perhaps millions of people, when most of us would jump on a grenade to save our buddies. "The needs of the many, out-weigh the needs of the few, or the one". I don't understand why this is even open for discussion. But as you know, there are quite a few pussies in the world.

Example of senility.http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/2779/paintx.png

reply

If you can let your own die for some fantasy your government has fed you, YOU'RE the only pussy around here. Sorry. Congratulations.

reply

You are an ass. I don't care what you think of any movie, don't put *beep* spoilers in the subject line.

reply

You should know by now that people will still put spoilers in the subject no matter how much you complain. It's about being smart and not looking at the message board before you see the movie. I don't look at it before I see the movie, I come after to read discussions. It's just stupid to come and look at the boards when you KNOW people will do it. There's always gonna be idiots who do it. I *beep* hate spoilers but that won't stop them.

I actually agree with you 100%. I was in the same mind set when that scene happened and for the same reasons. Then he was going to bring his kids in, I was actually going for the remote at that point, but then I didn't because I wanted to see how it ended.:)

In the event of nuclear terrorism they would've not only killed the wife, but tortured the kids. This would be triggering WW3, because it would rally the american people not only to assault the middle east, but create internment camps, and every other possible thing.

They've illegally imprisoned people with no evidence, often waterboarding the wrong people in countless cases (up for litigation and civil suits in other countries, i know of one that was a German citizen, and that was 6 years ago).

They've killed people just to increase provocation to go to war. (case in point; U.S.S. Liberty attack of 1967 (by isreali jets , who "mistakenly" thought it was an enemy ship)

The morality of the film pales in comparison to the reality. It's not about what you or john q public would do..this is the sad reality of the world, and the U.S. continuing to be an instrument of foreign policy and the continuation of that way of life.

reply

Unfortunately, I don't think this is fictional at all. I think the US government believe they are above every known law to man.

And I do believe these people are capable of doing this type of thing.

What they don't realise is, there are most likely people out there who will learn from this type of movie and turn the tables on them.

Unfortunate for all concerned.

reply

Thats how american... violence thought of their mind....LOL

reply

It's a movie, I know.
However, killing an innocent person can't be justified by any reason!
I strongly think this kind of style of tutoring is just wrong. Well, who am I to say?

reply

Ok you be the guy who slaps handcuffs on him and essentially kill 10 million people. I know this is a movie, but if I was in his place I would do the same, would not harm the kids though, but made a hell an effort to look like I did.
