(possible spoiler) What's on Judit's face?

There is a scene, just when Judit's coming back from Barcelona and meets her son, where her son stares at some scar-like marks on her face, and she tells him something like "yes... didn't have time for anything today, but I thought you were already used to it!".

Does anybody know what this has to do with the story at all? Has this something to do with the accident? Don't think so (she didn't show any injuries in the scenes that are supposed to happen just after the car accident).

Any hint on this?

Thx!

I've just finished translating the movie (into Portuguese) and I'll put in my five cents here. My guess (and it's just a guess) is that she's been using either marijuana or some speed or cocaine, and her son notices that when he looks at her eyes. I say this because she mentions she didn't even have time to wipe her ass (her words in Spanish) all day, and she also says she thought he was used to seeing her like that. Besides, the whole movie shows the carefree attitude towards drug use which most "trendy" movies seem to incorporate. Drugs are cool, folks! They really help get those creative juices flowing. Don't believe the bad, bad mainstream media when they tell you people die or are killed because of drugs (just kidding).

Ayway, what goes on isn't really well explained in the scene, either in the English version or in the original Spanish dialogue.

I didn't like the movie very much either, BTW. Not Almodóvar's finest.

I thought, since she has been scouting for loation with the film crew, it was a mark due to holding the round camera lens around her eyes too much. I have seen in several "making of ..." videos that directors etc view the scene through the small lens before filming.
