Your favourite scene...

My favourite has to be the scene with Penelope Cruz chasing the newspaper on the beach. It's an instant classic.

This was such a ravishing film - the rich colours, the delicate light, the subtle score plus so many wonderful images/scenes that remind you how leaden and unoriginal so many other movies are these days.

Like how she barges in on just as Martel Sr discovers her infidelity and she does the lip reading, instead of the lip reader (whose scenes by comparision are very funny).

And how Henry/Mateo puts his hands on the screen during the slow motion kiss.

Off topic: The volcanic island of Lanzarote in the Canaries was where the couple elope to. Now, when Almodovar was making the movie I remember a photo in the newspapers at the time with a caption like 'Almodovar filming Penelope Cruz on location for hew new movie' and it was a photo of Cruz stood next to a huge cactus. I know Lanzarote has a cactus garden, I'm just wondering why no scenes from that location didn't make the final cut?
