What did everyone think of the Final Episode?

I just finished watching the Finale' on DVD, and enjoyed it. I liked the ending scene with the camera panning out on the shot of them all together at the beach, it was a simply happy ending.

Nothing much changed - Gavin & Stacey still together as normal, Nessa & Smithy now getting along a bit better and caring for Neil... that's about it. Thought the wedding was called off, Nessa didn't end up with Smithy, there still just two parents putting up with each other - which isn't bad, it would of been a bit corny & obvious if suddenly they both ended up together.

It was a nice, sweet ending. What did everyone else think?

Liked the ending, ok as others have said, Stacey's pregnancy was a bit predictable but it finished with the four of them together in a nice cheery but understated way which is in keeping with the tone of the whole show.

Also liked how the whole Smithy/Nessa thing was left open to interpretation. Personally I think Smithy has moved to Wales to be with the two people he loves the most on this earth, Neil the baby and ...... Gavin!

Yes, I agree too that Smithy moved to Wales. He said something, I can't recall what, and they all teased him about sounding Welsh. Also I think that he and Nessa have more of a relationship. She was happy in the finale. She was not just smiling but laughing and joking. Nessa never did that before. So maybe she really found love?

Must agree that Smithy and Nessa may not be all hearts and flowers, but they are together in a sense, joined by Neil. I liked her saying to him "There's no other like you is there." Thats a telling line. But Smithy is also in Wales for Gavin :O)

The way Smithy comfortably stroked his hand over Nessa's back as he walked past was, for me, the biggest indication of something happening there.
