I've seen the iconic scene where he gets half his face blown off, straightens his tie, and then falls down dead. However, I didn't watch the series (I had no idea it would be so good) so I have no idea what that scene was about. Please bear with me.
So my question is why was Gus so angry with Hector, and what was he trying to get Hector to do under threat of lethal injection?
And how did Hector know Gus was going to kill him, and thus prepared the wheelchair bomb?
BTW, I'm a loyal viewer of Better Call Saul. I guess it's my penance for missing BB.
Yeah probably, but it's 62 episodes! I don't have time to watch all of those. Can't you just clue me in one this one scene please? I've been wondering about it for a long time.
Its against my moral code to tell you. I avoid spoilers at all costs and I couldn't bring myself to tell you, even if you asked. Thankfully for you, someone else told you all the dirty details!
I'll say this, you wouldn't regret watching those sixty-two episodes. You might even watch them again!
I almost turned it off after the pilot.i wasnt thrilled however I'm glad I did watch the rest .it makes BCS seem straight boring how great that show is
Yeah you should really watch Breaking Bad man, you're missing out on one of the greatest shows of all time. But if you really wanna know i'll tell you.
"why was Gus so angry with Hector, and what was he trying to get Hector to do under threat of lethal injection?"
Because Walt had Hector make them take him to the DEA, so it would look like Hector ratted to the DEA, he knew that would piss Gus off and get Gus to come there. Cause Walt had been trying to figure out how to get to Gus to kill him. He knew Hector was the answer cause Gus hates Hector more than anyone. He wasn't trying to get Hector to do anything, he was there to straight up kill Hector by lethal injection.
Walt Knew Gus couldn't resist but to pay Hector a visit after that and kill him, so he prepared the bomb on Hector's chair for Hector to set it off when he came there.
So Walter wanted to kill Gus AND Hector? Why? Please indulge me. I know it was a great series, but I don't have the time to watch all 62 episodes. Thanks.
to do 14000 posts in 62 hours you'd have to average 16 seconds per post . Assuming you actually read some other posts in order to reply , and spend a little time thinking about what to write , I'd imagine you're more like the 600 hours mark for actual time spent on forum. roughly.
You acknowledge BB is a great series , and you like the Saul thing , so what could be a better use of your time?
Well , a few things actually .... but posting on here isnt one of them.
Pay attention, mark. I said I doubt that I've spent 62 hours posting here. But then I'm not obsessed enough to care. Since you apparently do care, it sounds like you have OCD. You need to chill, Bro.
And I will decide what is good use of my time, thank you very much. And certainly you have better things to do than complain about the number of my posts. Sounds like you have too much time on your hands, rookie.
I do have a lot of time on my hands ... i'm at work getting paid for the time too :)
Us Breaking Bad fans are just a little confused when you say things like
- (I had no idea it would be so good)
- I know it was a great series,
but then dont want to watch it.
Anyway you're right , its up to you , no skin off my nose , I've given up recommending /films and tv series to people
Don't be bitter, rookie. Keep recommending films and tv series to people if you enjoy it. But perhaps you should not try to tell others how to use their time.
And I didn't say I don't want to watch it. I said it's a large commitment in time.
I never said that my judgement is worth anything to anyone else. It's only worth something to me, and I decided I didn't want to use any more of my time on this series. End of sentence.
I've moved on.
No ones saying you have to binge all 62 episodes in one sitting or anything, just watch 1 or 2 episodes a night and you'll get through the show in no time. If you like Saul then you'll enjoy Breaking Bad ten times more cause its a much better show. If you have the time to watch 1 episode of Better Call Saul every week you can surely squeeze in time to watch 1 episode of Breaking Bad a night or 1 episode a week.
Tbh i don't see how anyone could watch BCS without seeing Breaking Bad beforehand, especially with the black and white present day stuff with Saul in hiding post Breaking Bad, none of that would make any sense to you. Also you wouldn't get any of the references or react to anything of the easter eggs. The show is literally made to watch after Breaking Bad.
But back to ur question
"So Walter wanted to kill Gus AND Hector? Why? Please indulge me."
Walter wanted to kill Gus because Gus was a threat, Gus wanted Walter dead. Walt didn't wanna kill Hector, Hector just hated Gus enough to agree to help Walt cause killing Gus was the perfect way for Hector to go out. Walt knew Hector would have no problem killing himself to kill Gus.
Did you even watch all of the episode in question? I sometimes have to watch shows with the volume down and sometimes I miss some of the dialogue since if I'm not watching the screen I miss the dialogue.
Walt didn't want to kill Hector, but he told Hector he was offering him a chance at revenge. After Victor does the sweep of the place to make sure it isn't bugged or anything, Walt returns and even asks Hector if he has any second thoughts. Since Hector does not ring his bell, Walt knows Hector is OK with dying as long as he (Hector) can take out Gus in the process.
Sorry, I thought you at least watched the episode.
For reasons I won't reveal as spoilers, Walt got on Gus's bad side. I mean "I'm gonna get you sucka bad side".
So Walt was desperate. He needed some way to get the jump on Gus before Gus got him, otherwise Walt would have to leave town, his family, etc. So he asked his partner, who had actually been closer to Gus in the recent events, and had accompanied Gus on some personal outings. His partner could not provide much help, other than someone that Gus visited. So Walt says "maybe I could use this friend against, him, but not sure how". But Jesse, Walt's partner, says "No, he's not a friend. He's like some disabled guy Gus goes to and taunts". So Walt goes, "Hmm, he's not a friend, he's an enemy".
So Walt is able to use Hector and Gus's mutual hate to his advantage. He offers Hector the chance at revenge, cause he knows that Hector hates Gus more than Hector hates Walt (Walt played a role in the death of a few of Hector's family members). The first step is to get Hector to go to the DEA to make it appear that he is about to rat on all of his former partners, something someone in Hector's and Gus's circles would never do, even to an enemy. Hector can't communicate verbally, so any communication is slow using an aide that points at letters, but Hector doesn't say anything to the DEA. He just has the aide point to the letters "FU$% YOU" and is sent back to his retirement home.
Gus can't have Hector continuing to reveal stuff to the authorities, and figures it's time to kill Gus, which Walt knows that Gus will do personally because he hates Hector. So Walt was able to get Gus in the same room with Hector, and all Hector has to do is ring his bell to set off a bomb Walt has rigged to his wheelchair and the rest is history.
If you donβt care enough to watch the show why do you care about Gus Fringβs death. Youβre like a child who can only read 2 pages and then asks his classmates to explain it to him, pathetic.
