Sickens me how the majority of whites operate & think.
They work so hard to destroy a culture and continuously demean an entire group of people(especially Black),generate their own wealth off the backs and land of said group(s), and then years later they want to be deemed the "savior" to a group of people for a horrible situation/environment in which they created?
Something is mentally wrong with the majority of them.

I don't mind the over familiar trope of the White Savior as I do the transformation of the male lead into a brutish mute. He is not nearly as dumb as he was portrayed in the movie.

I agree that the film is bad, racist, and poorly acted.
However, you shouldn't stereotype any group of people for a screen play that only a few wrote. Makes you sound ignorant, which you probably are.
Anyways, it was just an insulting film to anyone who enjoys film. Especially since Sandra won an Oscar. They lost all credibility in my opinion.
Its a TRUE *beep* story and the woman happens to be white, so what I didn't see anybody of his color trying to help him!! This pisses me off -- I mean Jesus WTF did she do so wrong? She took him in and loved him as one of her own children. She didn't treat him any differently - til this day he adores her and his family that stood by him. If she didn't come along - where do you think Michael would've ended up? She didn't feel like she was "rescuing" him, she saw a young man w/potential and who needed love and security in his life, which she and her family provided. Why in the hell make it a race thing - this is a positive movie and a freaking TRUE ONE AT THAT !! I am sick and tired of the negative comments ppl are making bc it was a white woman who helped him, and she didn't care about the color of his skin. We all bleed the same color -- enough w/the freaking negativity AND racist remarks - this film is about Michael Oher's SUCCESS!!

There is no way that Hollywood would ever have allowed this film to be made (with its pro-Christian, pro-conservative message) unless it was based on a TRUE STORY!
But I can readily understand why liberals would hate this film, as they own Hollywood! It must be tearing them apart!
Do you think it would be better if Mrs. Tuohy (however you spell their name) just left Michael to himself? If I do a favor for a non-white person, does that mean as a white person that I put myself in the savior position?

Same thing wrong with this movie. It strokes white egos, but perpetrates the satisfying myth that blacks can only get ahead if whites do them a favor.
Actually, I think blacks in America would be better off if whites didn't do them so many "favors."
