I'm 23 years old...

And I'm a guy. I *beep* loved this movie. Could be that Amy Adams was in her undies like 5 times, I'm not sure. Seriously though, do what you have to do to see this film. Rent it, pirate it, borrow it. When they saw their mom in that TV movie, I almost lost it. Granted I am depressed and watching it alone but god damn. No movie has ever made me cry but that one came close.

Bottom line, I would not consider this a chick flick at all. I've watched chick flicks, I've watched a *beep* ton of movies. This is a winner, 8/10.

P.S. I've had this account for years, I've maybe made 5 posts. Never have I fully endorsed a movie like this, more people need to see this film.

Why is the fact that you're a guy relevant? Why would it be a chick flick? Just because women star in the film?

I"m a 24 dude, I liked it, but didn't love it.

A chick flick is that sappy crap like a soap opera.. you know those nasty Hugh Grant movies or the movie about that hooker who gets it on with some rich dude (Richard Gere) who ends up falling in love with her(Pretty Hooker or whatever it is called)

Sappy sentimental cheesy crap with no meaning is what chick flicks are about.. where some douchebag acts like a tit.. but in the end repents and changes so the she now has the douchebag prettyboy but it is OK because he is no longer a douchebag and now a sensitive guy who changes everything to be what the girl wants..

Guy flicks are the same in a somewhat different way.. still trite crap.. but for guys it is senseless T&A and violence.. again without little development of character..

This was just a dramatic character study and had a lot more depth than any crap chick flick... and far more entertaining... it's definitely a movie I've watched more than once... and that is saying something these days

I'm a 56 year old woman and really liked it. I watched the DVD after my weekly volunteering at a local animal shelter where I clean for almost 5 hours! So, I could relate to the cleaning theme.

Same here! I'm 23, a guy, and I really liked it.

I love these types of movies. I just watched 500 Days of Summer.

Everything you just said I AGREE. Lol... loved this movie so much... and to directly quote you "No movie has ever made me cry but that one came close." - Same! That scene really choked me and I felt the sad when Emily was Under the Train tracks weeping! Very gripping story!

This is a Maid speaking by the way

Just finished watching it. I'm a 22 year old guy and I liked this movie too. A good movie is a good movie. Plus it doesn't hurt to have Amy Adams in her underwear. 8/10What a fun, sexy time for you.
