I'm 23 years old...

And I'm a guy. I *beep* loved this movie. Could be that Amy Adams was in her undies like 5 times, I'm not sure. Seriously though, do what you have to do to see this film. Rent it, pirate it, borrow it. When they saw their mom in that TV movie, I almost lost it. Granted I am depressed and watching it alone but god damn. No movie has ever made me cry but that one came close.

Bottom line, I would not consider this a chick flick at all. I've watched chick flicks, I've watched a *beep* ton of movies. This is a winner, 8/10.

P.S. I've had this account for years, I've maybe made 5 posts. Never have I fully endorsed a movie like this, more people need to see this film.

Don't be silly! I'm a guy too and I loved it too! It was brilliant!

I'm 18, love this film.

Well, aren't you guys awesome. :) I wouldn't consider this a 'chick flick' either. The movie was brilliant in my opinion as well.

Absolutely? Nah. The film does have heavy emotions but it's not targeted for just woman. I would say it’s like the “Emo-Indie” of movies. If you consider every movie that has drama in it a chick flick then yeah, it’s a chick flick. Chick flicks to me would be like Steel Magnolias or Confessions of a Shopaholic type of films. I mean c’mon, a guy blows his head off in the first scene. Guess everyone has their own idea of what a chick flick is.

Yeah, but this movie isn't for women. It's for everyone.

I think by chick flick they mean rom com type stuff

Definitely not a chick flick.

A chick flick revolves around some lame opposites-attract-type romance, or group of obnoxious female friends.

I don't find it odd that a male would enjoy this movie.

Here's the breakdown:
Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock (Unless she's a cop (not an FBI agent) or in a supporting role) or Katherine Heigl (Post Knocked-Up) starring in it = Chick Flick
Vin Diesel and/or explosions = Guy flick
Anything in between = Sliding scale based on intelligence of the viewer

If a movie is a "chick flick" because it centers on female leads, then I suppose this is one, but that's a pretty poor definition in my opinion. I'm a 25 year old guy and I very much enjoyed it, even if I was a bit let down by most things after the house fire

reply

No way this is a chick flick!! This is indeed a beautiful movie! Am 25 and i luvd it!! ;)

I'm a 23 year old guy also. Totally loved it. Almost made me tear up too and few movies can do that.

reply

It's kind of annoying how people always feel the need to write 'I'm a guy.' As if having a penis will somehow stop you from liking certain movies.

Big Gay Al, it has recently come to our attention that you are gay.

reply

Actually, my penis has stopped me from liking certain movies, for which I am very grateful.

But aside from that closeup of Steve Zahn's ass in an early scene, this movie is definitely for everybody.

22 year old guy and I did not think this was a chick flick at all. Pretty good actually. I only rented it because of Amy Adams and Emily Blunt and was pleasantly surprised. 7/10.

How the F!ck is this movie a chick flick? chick flicks have no deeper meanings into them.. theyre almost always about a girl and a boy falling in love and something happens that screwed them over but then they got back together.. this one, is hardly like this. the central character is melancholic and it's about how she got her life back together, in a subtle way... for all who said this is a chick flick, you seriously don't know much about movies then. A movie with two female leads does not necessarily spells chick flick.

I said "I don't consider this movie a chick flick". Did you even read the OP?
