Why are Americans so high-strung about any kind of rape scene?

I'm an American too and just generally speaking here, but it confuses the *beep* out of me how no one can withstand any kind of rape scene in a movie. Now I am nowhere NEAR implying that rape is not a bad thing, it's gruesome, horrible, and heinous for sure. But why do so many people have little to no problem seeing someone get murdered in the most brutal manner possible.. yet add "rape" to it, everyone cringes in sheer disgust. Is the thought of having a dick up your ass without your consent really that much worse than the concept of being stabbed, shot, beheaded, amputated, etc. all resulting in death? Not trolling here at ALL, just curious as to what everyone's thoughts here are..

Because americans are extremely prude to the point where i wonder how they even are able to produce children because all you hear from americans is how nasty, dirty and disgusting sex is, how it needs to be removed (i mean games like The Witcher and Indigo Prophecy were cut of their sex stuff and it's laughable), just look at the crying about Game of Thrones and it's sex scenes.
Now Sex makes americans cry but rape is even worse, it's Sex in combination with violence an crime. No wonder those prude god-fearing people go nuts over it and cry their eyes out.

It's just how weird americans are and looks to us other people. Same with americans having no problem about humans getting killed in movies but kill one dog in a movie and they write laters, start hate campaigns and act as if killing a dog on screen (and it's not even real) is the biggest crime anybody can commit.
They don't have a problem with humans getting killed because they are basically raised with a gun in their hand.

Point is, americans are just simply *beep* weird. So nobody should be surprised by them crying about something not cry worthy.

Murder on TV and in film is more common. We have become desensitized to it. Rape is rarer, and I think in a way more personal. It's more of a violation. It's like torture.

I think your point is kind of pointless. This isn't a thing.

Some people are fine watching rape scenes, others honestly can't stomach them even if they honestly try to. It's got nothing to do with morality, it's an instinct thing.

And to suggest we should be equally sensitive to murder on screen is just not realistic. You would realize as well as any of us that we are exposed to images of violence and death from a young age, but NOT images of sex and/or rape (i.e. kids can watch people get shot but they're not allowed to see female nipples) - of course we're going to be less desensitized to it.

I just don't understand why you need to ask this question.

I can't stomach them, I wish I could because horror is my genre and I realize rape and murder are both equally horrible (although to be fair, rape is a life sentence of trauma, death is just death) but I just can't. I don't understand why and I don't know why you would need to understand why. Nobody is telling you that there is something wrong with you for being able to stomach it, so why does it matter?

I also get panic attacks from pictures of sharks because I have selachophobia. I mean, I can't explain that. We all have different gut reactions, instincts, sensitivities and primal responses. Some are rational others are not. As long as you're not harming anyone and you're not condemning others who aren't harming anyone, why go out of your way to call people different from you "high strung" and challenge their irrational responses?
