This movie has a 6.6 while crap has way above that? Nice.

This was one of the most well made thriller/suspense movies in recent times and ever really.

The acting was great from every character. It made you feel every emotion possible, the camera work was great, the score was great, the gore in the movie was central to the revenge and not just torture porn, and it was just an overall great concept.

It made you really contemplate how you would react in a situation like that and what you would feel.

I can't believe movies like this are rated so low on IMDB compared to crappy movies.

Horror movies in general tend to get really low ratings. It has to be the most negatively judged of all the genres. You also have to take into account that a lot of people have developed this extremely overly critical mindset.

I heard so much about this movie so i decided to watch it and wasn't disappointed. The rape scene was disturbing.

It's actually a pretty good score for a horror movie, especially a remake (which people tend to judge a lot more harshly than original films). The original of this movie only has a 6.0. You almost never see a remake rated more highly than the original, so with that in mind I consider the rating a glowing recommendation of this movie.
