I love when big films take time with small details. During Jem's last stand, when he's crouched down and out of ammo he sees a styrofoam soda cup on the ground, grabs it, and takes one last drink. Even when he knew he was done for, he still wanted to satisfy his thirst one last time. That was Jem to a primal T.

I’m really glad you pointed this out, I find it to be one of the more poignant moments in the movie. Jem was robbing banks at least half cause he wanted the rush, you’re totally right, he goes to get that last drink cause he is someone that just feeds what he needs.

I'm sure he wished it was a cold beer...I know that's what I would've wanted!
