Favorite quotes/scenes?

(spoiler alert!)
"I love you, too, but I'm gonna mace you in the face!"

"But we already 'did it'."

"Wouldn't it sound great if we could hear a train going by in the distance?"
"No, not really"
"It'd probably be annoying"

"Sounds like she's trying to sell us a vaccuum cleaner."

Not bad, for a cowboy

Orgies are not too much fun if no one wants to do it with you.

For me my favorite part of the movie is everything that happens at the airport. I like how when they decide not to leave you can't hear a thing due to the airplane. Also I love the music thats playing.

I laughed to myself when they go to sleep in the nunnery in the middle of nowhere in rural India and have an iPod and a dock next to the bed.

Fav scene is the opening scene and the funeral scene. Loved the combination of cinematography and music.

Ditto on the Opening and the Funeral Scene, I absolutely love both songs used and the photography is fantastic. I get goosebumps watching those scenes.

"He says the train's lost."

"How can the train be lost? It's on rails."

Those shoes cost $3000!
Yes but at least he only got one of them...

reply

I love when they leave their luggage behind. I feel so liberated.

And the long slow-motion shot of the brothers at the funeral is one of my favorite parts of any movie. It's very memorable to me.

And "If you want scrambled eggs, raise your hand," and they all raise their hands. It's funny to me because that's a technique I use with my kindergarten students.

reply

Watched last night. I love the slow-mo of the brothers too.

My two favs are when Peter is mad and says, "I'm going to hold this in for awhile." I'm going to be saying that from now on. The other is after Peter says to stop ordering for him, the oldest brother stops at him and says perhaps you'd like the cookies, you like cookies, go ahead and order. Then Peter looks embarrassed and says, "cookies."

reply

That's my favourite too:

Earlier on:
- "Could you not order for me, please?"
- "What?"
- "Order for yourself."

- "I'm going to have the pudding. Jack, you want to try the cake? And Peter, what looks good to you? The cookies? He's going to order for himself."
- "The cookies."

Just says so much about family relationships...

reply

Jack: "I love you too, but I'm going to mace you in the face!"

*sprays them*

"I had to do it!!" Runs away. "Stop including me!" LOL

Great movie!

Peter: Not really.
Francis: It'd probably be annoying.'

Jack: "Those guys are laughing at us".

Francis: :"I love these people!"

CAMERA PANS TOWARDS GROUP LAUGHING AT BROTHERS

Francis turns his head to look at group, then turns face forward and stares into the distance, his eyes wistful.

Francis
"I love it here. These people are beautiful"

CAMERA PANS TO PETER

In disbelief, Peter
"They're playing cricket with a tennis ball."

The scene outside the garage with the tow truck driver when Owen Wilson tells him "You get back in your car right now... get back in that car!"

reply

well, i really enjoy early on when they're on the train and talking about the painkillers they have gotten. and owen wilson's character has some bottle that says Opio Sedate on it. makes me laugh every time without fail.

reply

Francis takes pain medicine because of his face, Peter takes them because his father's glasses are giving him headaches, and Jack takes them just to get high.

reply
