For those who read the book can you tell me more about what’s actually taking over their body’s after they wake up from being buried in pet Sematary ? Is it a demon? Is it the actual person who died just evil ?

shareIt is a Wendigo. A Native American evil spirit or spirits. In the book the Indians used the burial ground for a long time and then during a rough winter they had to resort to cannibalism in order to survive and afterwards they buried the bones of the person they ate on those grounds, and a Wendigo showed up or was created, so the grounds went sour after that and whoever is placed there gets taken over by a wendigo.
shareI read the book back in 84 or 85 and I think it might have been the last great Stephen King book I read with the possible exception of The Eyes of the Dragon. Around mid 83 I started my first Stephen King book Dead Zone(my all time favorite) and in short order I read Christine, The Shining, Different Seasons(The Body, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, Apt Pupil), Firestarter, The Stand, Cujo, Cycle of the Werewolf, and that one story about a teacher digging a big hole to get revenge on some mobster who killed his wife(something like that lol).
But yeah, I read Pet Semetary and it did creep the heck out of me. All these classic Stephen books from the early 80's were great as he was really doing a lot of coke back then.
It is indeed a hell of a drug.
