Who's Your Favorite Character this Season?

Sunil, Frances, Jesse or Adele? (Please answer only if you like this show this season.)

I'm torn between Jesse and Adele (or how Paul interacts with Adele), with Sunil right behind. The sessions with Adele are further proof that doctors make the worst patients, and it's always fascinating to see how Paul deals with his own life and this "reverse therapy."

Jesse can be volatile and annoying sometimes but also I find him fascinating and can relate to him in several ways.

It is hard for a television series to make viewers actually care about its characters but for me this show is does so with virtually every episode. So, who do you care about the most?

I find Sunil's character to be the most fascinating so far this season. Francis is boring, and I wanna slap Jesse sometimes for being such a little b-tch. I don't count Paul's sessions with Adele because I already know alot of his issues, lol.

I've already watched all of week 4 On Demand. Usually, Sunil is my favorite, but for the first time, Jesse's session was my favorite of the patients' sessions this week. Jesse's demeanor was calmer and he was thinking about someone other than just himself which was a nice change. The Paul/Adele session was excellent, too - the best of the week. I can barely watch the Francis sessions. That storyline is so boring.

I don't know how can someone write that "they can't get into characters"? Why would you wanna do that in the first place? Those people have real issues, I don't want to be any of them.

I would like to kick Jesse in the face - I KNOW Paul wanted to that few times as well. Can't say that I hate him, though - I love him as a character, think he's a REAL person with REAL problems that are bothering lot of teenagers around the world (not talking about him being adopted, but his situation with his "mother").

Although I love Debra Winger, so far I've found her sessions a little boring.

Adele is great - too bad my English's not good enough so I can describe it better, but I enjoy her and could watch their sessions for hours.

But Sunil... Sunil is the reason why this season is already better than previous one. I'm not affraid to admit that Sunil is the best character of the show, after Laura and Alex. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Irrfan Khan nominated for an Emmy in Best Supporting Actor category next year. He's so genuine, he's so perfect, he's so lost, he's so miserable... I can feel all of that just by looking into his eyes, he doesn't even have to say anything.

I'm enjoying this season and hope that it isn't the last one.

Adele is my favourite. Sunil is also quite fascinating.

Thanks for the responses. After watching this past week ("Week Six") and seeing the promos for next week, I actually wonder if we'll be seeing Sunil again. I hope we do; he's making such breakthroughs lately (as is Jesse, I might add). I hope he doesn't turn into another "lost" patient. That already happened in this series and I'd prefer the writers don't repeat that again -- if only to keep things fresh.Dex

Sunil and Adele are tied as my favourites this season. IMO, the episodes with these two characters are as good as any in this series. Paul has met his match in Adele while Sunil's character is absolutely fascinating and compelling and very much, as Adele says, a mirror of Paul.

Sunil with Adele as a very close second. Jesse is getting somewhat better while Frances is just getting more boring and annoying

Sunil! He's so multi-dimensional, and mysterious, and soulful. Even if he is perhaps capable of violence, I still feel such empathy for him. And of course he's played by a brilliant actor.

sunil no doubt about it

Sunil and Paul/Adele.
Hoping for awards for Byrne, Khan, and Ryan.

Sunil and Frances . . . hard to decide between the two. Frances started off the least interesting to me, but her character really developed through the season.

My favorite is definitely Adele.

Amy Ryan is amazing, hoping the show is renewed, and she remains in as Paul's psychiatrist next year.

reply

My favorite was Adele. I loved how she never let Paul manipulate their patient-client relationship and really wanted to help him. Amy Ryan is an incredible actor. I also thought Sunil and Jesse were interesting characters. Frances was the only one that I didn't like. She was completely self-centered and I really don't think she was helped by Paul.
