I know you are gonna say that was the point, But the torture of a young woman filled me such loathing and sadness. Watching 12-13 year old boys do such horrific things to her made me sick to my stomach, I know kids can be cruel, but this film just pushes it to far. I know it's based on a novel, and inspired off a real event, but the film itself is just an excuse for torture porn. Now I'm wishing I could put this film out of head.

shareIt is. I wandered upon those scenes. FWIW, plenty of horrific stuff in movies (not that that's supposed to make one feel better, but still). And given the current times, that doesn't help either.
It's just odd how varied these things can get. For example, in Taken[/i], the dad tortures his daughter's kidnapper into sexual slavery. You feel good (after early in the movie, the daughter is kidnapped, and her friend is dead from OD on some drug). Then you watch a movie like [i]Me, Myself, & Irene (a comedy), and people are cheering as Jim Carey's character almost drowns a little girl (no shame here. I laughed. The girl was a snot head).
Won't ever watch this. It sounds like something only a depraved person could make. Putting an actress through something like this is abusive.
