Was the naked lesbian scene needed?

Why does everyone think that in order to make a good horror movie, there must be nudity? I'm a guy and still found that scene tasteless and not needed. Nudity does not make a crappy movie good by any means.

reply

No, but it happened.

Seriously, though. It is a direct to dvd horror film. What did you expect? That's like watching the smurfs then asking if it really needed to be so childish. Sheesh. I can't believe that to this day there are still people who dont realize one of hte cornerstones of the horror genre is nudity and sex.

has anyone got the scene on video? i litrally just want to watch that scene. because damn. lesbians are needed.

The lesbian scene starts at about 00:30:00. You can view the movie online at https://filmboards.com/board/10827782

The other film had nudity also, and the lesbians were ghosts in the first film also. Look at HoHH closer, and you will find the lezbos.

A lot of the ghosts were the same, you just have to pay close attention in both films.

I don't think that the scene was necessary either because of the naked lesbians, but I guess the writers wanted to show the audience that that character was indeed a lesbian. Remember what she said to Ariel in the first part of the movie? That hinted that she was either bi or lesbian.

reply

No, I don't really remember what she said to Ariel. I was too distracted by the sheer awfulness of the movie.

reply

Nudity wasn't really needed. the original was good, it had no nudity. and I honestly dont believe that the lesbian scene was needed, and it was very tasteless. Stick to the originals.

Who watches horror films without female nudity?

I do.

A horror movie without female nudity is insipid and it's a fact.Any guy who doesn't love is probably a f*g.

There is a scene on the interactive version of the movie where Ariel (WHO IS IMPERSONATED BY THE GHOST NURSE) seducts Paul and leads him into the bedroom upstairs sprawls naked onto the bed and disappers under the covers and Paul pulls them off to reveal Warren's snapped body and the Nurse appears behind him and says in Ariel's voice, "Don't you want me??"

reply

If I'm watching a horror film that is CLEARLY going to be bad I have certain expectations going in, and one of them is female nudity or lesbian sex.

If these expectations aren't met I will be a mite disappointed.

Just once, I wish we would encounter an alien menace that wasn't immune to bullets

reply

Maybe not needed, but I wasn't bothered by it. And isn't it a good thing it was "tasteless"? I mean, it is still a horror movie... Or are you a Christian/American? ;-)

And to other posters: since when is this movie a remake? Isn't this just a sequel of (the original) House On Haunted Hill?

reply

no its the sequel to the remake of House on Haunted Hill. It actually outshines the remake in several areas. The original is a different animal altogether. Good movie would suggest it to anyone.

As for the lesbian scene, it was just apart of the imagery of the film. Question is, is there a reason not to include it? Its not like the film suddenly got worse from that scene.

Didn't bother me any, just blends in with everything else going on.

reply

Honestly that scene did seem out of place originally, but then they did say that the ghost were reliving their final moments.. What a moment that must have been.

mmmm lesbians.. jk, but no really mmmmmm

reply

That scene lasted a little over 3 minutes. That's a long time for a movie to waste.

Why make a bad movie longer than it needs to be?

reply

maybe your gay.. ever thought of that? :)

reply

It's never needed. It doesn't help the movie at all. I think it just does the opposite and cheapens it. I liked the first House on haunted hill, the remake that is.
