I saw the trailer and it looked like it took place in the 60's or maybe 50's. When I read the book, I didn't come across anything that gave away the fact that it was supposed to take place then. Did I miss anything?
shareThe book was written in 2001. So I'm guessing that that's when the book was supposed to take place. There are mentions of CDs and stuff.
Nonetheless, I liked the 60s time setting :)

The book took place in the early 2000's, which is a lot different from the 1950's and 1960's. The book never mentioned 9/11 or how it went from in-your-face to somber.
