Considering the type of work he used to do - they have to have had "emergency contingency plans". 1) that wife wouldn't keep bothering him. 2) those brats wouldn't demand attention.
He's trying to save the world, but wife and kids keep bothering him. Really? This was a great chance to make a movie where they show how kids can be trained to become more than just American selfish coddled brats.
