Did Brad even read the book?

The only similarity between the book and the film is the title. Why base a movie on a book if you are not going to base the movie on the book. I loved world war Z (the book) and I knew that it was going to be hard turning it into a film, but they didn't....So disappointed.

I recall Pitt and Decaprio getting into a bidding war over the rights. The book is awesome - but not remotely filmable - literally "I went here saw this --- went there saw that" - (or I heard that months earlier this/that happened).

Making the Hero/protag actually have something to do was that whole end weird thing in that -- CDC-ish thing.

I can get the interest in the book - great title --- but then what the hell do you with it? Most of the movie is in fact our hero observing weird shiz.

They did the best they could - with Pitt getting huge bucks to film stuff happening around him.

I new they could not make a movie that followed the book. Like you say, it would not have been possible. And it would have been *beep* However, what the book does a great job of is letting the reader know what happened during the war. I hoped that Brad would have been a charicter living in that world. i fully expected a hero story, staring brad pit, that was not in the book. But i thought i would be living in the world the book created. It didnt. It was just a zombie movie. Like the movie or not, it was not world war Z. As a fan of the book i was very disapointed.
