I have watched this film and enjoyed it very much...though it's not a very pleasant experience due to the sorrow story .
It seems to me that people in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan could understand this moive more, furthemore...love it.

I really liked it.
I thought the sexual scenes were realistic given how brutal Mr. Yi had to be to succeed as a Chinese police supervisor working directly for the Japanese occupation forces.
