Does the naked mile really excist??
well??
shareYeah, plenty of colleges have it, although I doubt most of them are college-sponsored events. I know that Millersville University used to have one, but I don't know if they still do.

Looks like you forgot to take your anti-retard pills again.

Yeah my school just had one the other night, albeit it's a seniors-only tradition.
From now on, all fingerpainting will be done in red.

That's right, Millersville had the "naked relay race"

i love how every forum on this site turns into american bashing, shut the *beep* up and get some lives...
No ones bashing you they are telling it like it is.
Your entire culture has been a result of movies. What many people dont know is that there would have been no naked mile until it came on TV
Look at your girls they are all flashing their B(.)(.)Bs on Girls gone wild. But what the american girls did not know that all the girls on the very first girls gone wild were amatuer porn stars or they were totally drunk.
Now that is your culture.
Mardi grass for plastic beads that cost a nickel girls show their boobs kiss each other strip naked. Man you need alife
LoL! The naked mile and boob flashing happened long before television... Ever heard stories of places like Sodom and Gomorrha? Plus, prostitution is the oldest profession in the world...
If you have this much time on your hands, maybe you could reword things so that rather than take offense from it, we can all learn from what you really meant to say.
I don't think boob flashing existing back in the days of the Old Testament or even until as late as the late 20th century.
shareYou don't think "boob flashing" existed before the late 20th century?
Hahaha. Man, the Naked Mile board is saturated with...ignorance.
Anyone who is not an American or a Westerner is bound to be offended by this film. If this was ever released in a muslim country their would be a riot. So to all the non Westerners out their just don't watch the film. Noone is forcing you. As to all you Americans ignore the squabble rants of a couple of disgruntled easterners.
shareWhy on earth would I want to be offended by this movie. I mean we've all seen naked women heard course language and lame jokes. This is not worth being offended by, if you are you are taking this movie for way more then it is.
And why do you focuss on muslim countries? like they would be the only ones in the world where it can't be shown? I mean there are plenty non-muslim countries where it is banned probably.
For many millennia even after the invention of clothing, occasional or normal everyday nudity was fairly common in most of the world. The ancient Greeks did the early Olympic Games totally naked. Nude beaches, even today, are common and accepted in most of Europe.
There are nude beaches in America too.

Then don't talk *beep* on how American's speak, *beep* dumbass.

Funny considering the richest man and the richest woman come from the USA.

Avril knows Bandaids ;)
That's funny because you are incorrect.
The richest man in the world is no longer Bill Gates nor is he from the United states.
Carlos Slim Helu from Mexico is now the world's richest man with a worth of $67.8 billion whjile Bill Gates is only worth $59.2 billion.
I am an American and I would appreciate you not using false facts to defend America and I don't really know why I even bothered with this because this has absolutely nothing to do with the movie.
Bill Gates is worth ONLY $59.2 billion? Hahahaha what a loser!
shareEngland rules :D and america is a close second lol :P
shareBill gates was never the richest man in the world. He was only the riches businessman. He had the highest earning out of busines. Otherwise the Kind of Brunei and many such small countries beat him in assets(land) and taxes/revenue collected.
shareIt used to happen every year at the University Of Michigan either before or after finals. Some time about 5 years ago, the administration stopped it because it was attracting too many people who came to watch.
shareYes, it did happen at UofM, and it was just the Law School after finals. No, none of the runners looked like the people in the movie. It does still take place, on a smaller scale and they don't publicize it so that the police won't arrest the participants.
shareYes. Ann Arbor, MI has had the tradition for many years. Think about it--most of the Pie movies take place in MI locations.
shareYes. Ann Arbor, MI is more or less a hippy town. They also have a hash bash, sort of an art fair with pot. The city doesn't run either of these, but nor does it shut them down.
shareThis is actually pretty common. They even do it at Harvard.

Hash Bash should be on the net. The Naked Mile was, but now if you google it you just come up with the movie. Still, it happened. Didn't hear about it being shut down, too bad.

the movies naked mile is based on the one at michigan, but it was shut-down there in 2004,i'm guessing because of bad publicity.
Bam Margera: Here we are at some random-ass ranch and this is the Brand. And it's gonna suck!
UCLA does an underwear run every year. my myspace friends go there and they posted pics of it.
shareMost schools in the Big Ten have some version of this. At Indiana, our fraternity had a fantastic little tradition where we'd run through the sorority next door naked, and then they'd recipriacte the deed through our fraternity. Afterwards, everhyone would party...some girls still naked, but most in their undies which was fine too. Most girls that go to Big Ten Schools are hot, it's a proven fact.
shareThe Naked Mile was a University of Michigan institution for years. It was started by members of the rowing or swim team who got drunk one night and decided to run naked through the campus. The tradition grew quickly and up to 1,500 naked co-eds ran through town.
Other schools had naked runs just before finals or at the first snowfall, but U of M was the biggie.
It was halted by school officials about seven years ago, allegedly because it had gotten too big and expensive for the town to keep an eye on it.
But most people think the real reason was because some video company was filming each running then selling videotapes online. It wasn't Girls Gone Wild, but something similar.

The tradition crossed the pond to the UK as well. We had once for charity in Newcastle. I don't know if any americans have been to Newcastle but its bloody cold especialy in the winter and for some reason we decided it'd be a good idea to do it in January...mistake!
As always I apologise for my poor grammar' speeling and use of RanDOm cAPitaLS

I went to the University of Michigan and graduated in 2007. I also was a tour guide for the University during part of my time there. As also a member of the Greek system there, the movie is horrendously inaccurate but can be found amusing to most guys.
The event no longer exists, although it did occur in the 1980s. It may have continued briefly into the 1990s. It took place in the spring after the last day of classes and before finals started. It occurred at midnight in the diag and was not university sponsored. While I did not check out the filming locations, none of the movie looked like it was actually filmed in Ann Arbor, except for some spots that may have been in our law quad (where Mr. Levenstein talks to young Stifler about his dilemma)
Hope this helps!
I graduated UofM in 2001 and it still existed then, I'm sad to hear its been cancelled, however it was kind of 'pervy.' There were so many people crowded around watching that on a two lane street there would be so many people that the runners could only run single file through the crowd. And the crowd was made up of a lot more than students, there were tons of old guys with cameras and video cameras, dirty bastards. The run would start on University ave. around Forest or Church and end at the student union. This movie was filmed in Toronto, btw. One thing they didnt include in the movie (because its just not as sexy) is that lots of the girls would wear saran wrap on their chests. The 'bigger' girls would do this because otherwise it hurts to run, the smaller girls that did this probably did so because they wanted to be less naked, heh. Also lots of people wore backpacks for the run which they put their clothes in. Considering Michigan's naked mile is actually called 'The naked mile,' this movie is supposed to be taking place at UofM (its mentioned in the deleted scenes), and the original creator of the American Pie movies was either a UofM student or recent graduate, I think it's safe to say this movie was modeled after the naked mile that used to be at UofM.
shareBill Gates is worth ONLY $59.2 billion?
That's all, my my how does he even manage to pay rent! I think I could manage to get by on $59.2 billion but I'd have to penny pinch!
It is indeed based on the University of Michigan Naked Mile, which was the most famous in the country. It started in the 80's, peaked in the 90's, and continued until 2004. (I ran it in 1995.)
I know the general trends b/c I studied at UM from 1986-1990 as an undergrad, and from 1992-1995 as a grad student. I didn't hear much about it in the 80's (when it was initially just a hockey team tradition), but it was huge by 1992, and remained so at least through 1995.
We know this is the event/school the movie is based on, b/c the original American Pie was set in Michigan, as was the first sequel (on Lake Michigan), and the author is from Michigan. If you watch the first film, they talk about traveling to other Michigan cities.
It was not filmed on campus, but there are apparently some references to the school in deleted scenes. I think I recall seeing a still-shot with UM colors/symbols in it.
