The movie itself was pretty good, up until the point it was revealed that the driving force was the 'old evil'. So great and powerful as to compel mankind to feed it, but so week and decrepit it cant even fend for itself
actually anything over 6 stars on Imdb is quite respectable. 6.2 is a pretty good rating..

yeeeah, those horror films are really getting bad ratings, aren't they? ;)
I wouldn't consider it "great", but it was pretty entertaining. Seven out of 10 from me.
What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!
Agreed Bloody Predator, this movie is a very original horror gem and IMDB's rating system is horrible and flawed.
Trolls/children/haters/non-genre-fans vote without even seeing the film, sheep can't form their own opinions so follow what other people say or what they heard so they don't get flamed on the boards. Trolls then hang around on boards of movies they hate offering nothing, but "worst movie ever" and "I want 90 minutes of my life back" without posting any real reasons as to why, obviously trying to sway public opinion. Its just sad, but then again its the internet:)
Imdb should clear out the trolls with a mass banning/closing of puppet accounts with 1-2 bad reviews only or the ones with all bad reviews.
On the brighter side a 6.2 is a fairly high rating for a Horror film, but it should be about a 6.8, higher if it didn't use CGI.
I know right?
6.2, while not awful, is rather low for this movie. It should be around 7.
Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
7.2, I'd say. It's not too shabby a film.

Personally, I love it; it is among 8 and 9 in my book, but as for IMDB, 7.0 or 7.5 would be reasonable (can't expect many horror films to have extremely high ratings).
🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾
except for the fact this movie was awful. 6.2 is generous.
"we'll make our own tripods ... ours will have four legs" - Oliver, Scary Movie 4
It deserves lower. There was some good camera work at times but overall it wasn't too great. The short story was much better and deserved to be put in the hands of a skilled director. I would've gave it a 6 (maybe) if there wasn't an absolutely ridiculous cameo by Rampage Jackson. I know the Japs love their MMA but that scene was unnecessary and made me feel like the director had no real love for the original story. All the big name actors didn't help either.
It seems to me like Clive Barker stories will never get the treatment they deserve in the film world. Candyman is a classic but in my opinion Barker isn't too great a director and should just stick to writing. Perhaps the Hellraiser remake will be worth a damn, perhaps not.
