I enjoy it. When you choose such a film at your dvd/video store you know its going to be a gorefest. You know its not going to be oscar worthy in terms of acting. You hope it scares you. It has jump in your seat moments. You know its going to conform to cliches. But you just want to be entertained.
However it doesn't really conform to cliches. You have the Psycho twist at the start utilized in Hostel where the main character is killed. And you sympetheise with the main character at that point. Her bf has been caught being blown by another chick but shes also grown and completed a challenge that ordinarilly she wouldn't have done.
Anyways lets look at it. The black guy who traditionally gets whacked first off lives, and he says I dont want sex, and he sympethises with the goth chick whose attempted suicide.
I mean it really conforms to stereotypes in terms of introducing characters but where they end up and their character development is totally against the grain in terms of traditional horror films.
Anyways its good for what it is. I mean have you seen the Hills have eyes 2 that sucked balls, but jesus you know when you pick it up its about gore, its about scare tactics, its about pure entertainment, if you think it sucks thats because you are probabley comparing it with shawshank or godfather, compare it against other horror films of our decade with a similar budget etc.

IMO it's good but not in the same sense as the first. The first was a pretty serious-minded horror movie. This one didn't take itself seriously and was just out there. It seemed to work in its favor too. Henry Rollins also helps ALOT!

i hated every other Wrong Turn movie except this one. Joe Lynch is a talented director.
Hail to the King, Baby
Saw it little over a year ago and was crazy about it. Now I like it to say the least.
