Wow, he cheated on his wives a lot. Why?
shareBecause he was a mad man.
shareBecause he only likes the beginnings of things.

In truth, the beginning is the best part isn't it? After that it takes work! That being said - you can only pull that off for so long. I'm sure Don at some point, will have to think long and hard about all of the good women he let get away. Woman that actually cared about him.
sharewhy?
A scumbag with low self esteem constantly needing to convince himself of something. And who is his best bang? Really? I sometimes wish we could take the good parts of the different generations and mix them more modern generations. A time where honor and integrity meant something. Where being a man wasn't frowned upon.
I am definitely not a prude, I get a lot of attention by women at work, on street etc but the idea of messing around on my wife is a non starter. I think about the way she looks at me and the thought that I could have her look at me with disappointment and a tear in her eye is just a really bad image.
As I said in another thread I like the show but I can only watch a few episodes before I move away from it for a few months- Some day they'll have a show where a husband and wife love each other work through issues and maintain their vows. As boring as it may sound to some it makes you a rich man indeed.
I agree that a good man is faithful to his wife. But to bring in the psychobabble to insult the character for cheating on his wife, that's just unnecessary. Some men find honor other ways. Consider how repulsed Don Draper was when he learned the British guy had embezzled money from the company. Just a different set of values, that's all.
shareThe younger girl who lived in California -- I th k it was season 2. They were really rich but none of them worked. He just got in a car with her and left Pete high and dry.
She was a knockout.
I'd say Dr. Faye. She would have also made the best long-term relationship for him. So that is a win-win.

In answering this question, what is meant by hot? Hottest looking, or most overall attractive? Or, viewed subjectively or (to the extent one can make this analysis) objectively?
In terms of one's static appearance, viewed by common standards of beauty, I think Betty was the most attractive looking. I am even tempted to say by a lot (although for a minor character the stewardess was closest in appearance). And fwiw I think the creators of the show saw it that way, since the show's narrative arc in some respects and as concerns Don's lovers was one where he started with Betty, so "objectively" attractive, his wife, the mother of his children, and ended up throwing that away. That he had some reasons for doing so does not change that it was tragic that they ended, and one of the show's most poignant moments was their phone call in the penultimate episode.
But from my perspective the most attractive was Faye. She was certainly very good looking. But she also had a self confidence that was a bit lacking in Betty, and was more Don's equal in terms of intelligence and accomplishments.
Part of Faye's presence in the show I thought involved a feminist angle, that what men thought they wanted in the fifties and early sixties - a stay at home wife - was not really as interesting or involving as someone like Faye was. We see Faye as something of a vanguard of many women today. Don is seen as recognizing Faye's persona as an attractive one, but he ended up sort of regressing by taking the younger and what was perceived by him to be LESS challenging Megan (even if she ended up being too problematic in the long run). The business of Faye not getting along as well with his children I thought while a consideration ended up playing out as a kind of excuse not to go with the woman who would have been better for him, and let's face it he better for her, in the long run, than not only Megan but all the other women.
So for me it was Faye, and I would also acknowledge Rachel was similar in that respect, so I don't disagree with those who voted for her.
And finally I also found Allison (his secretary) very attractive. But I did not think she was relationship material, if you will, as Faye clearly was. One of Don's biggest mistakes was choosing Megan over Faye.
What about Bobbie Barrett? Perhaps not hot in the young sense, but she was mature and randy. She could hold her own with Don. She seemed to like getting tied up until she realized he was leaving!
shareBobbie was pretty hot too in her own way, but it's always still Rachel for me. If nothing else, I loved that she called Don out on his *beep* at the end of their relationship.
Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.

I found all of them to be unlikable.
